Toy Story Mania queue is a mess

I said that Custodial IS doing their part. It'd just help if their were more.

And that's terrible thinking actually. Think about it. If you were to close a ride at 3PM, you'd have a 120 Min. queue. It's physically impossible to shut the ride down for Five Minutes. It'd take around two hours to cycle that queue out of the attraction, and if it involves painting (Which it doesn't, they already paint it every time it gets bad.) that takes at least an hour. So now you've got your Star attraction out for THREE HOURS. A park is generally open for 11 hours, and expects around 20,000 people. Now...I don't want to do the math, but if the attraction only does some 1,700 people an hour, that means that only around 13,000 people will get to ride it that today, compared to 18,000.

Good job Evan, Now nearly half the park won't get to ride!
:brick: :p

Seriously, sometimes, and I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but Disney actually is doing the best it can on this issue.

As I said, only thing that might help in the long run is too hire more Custodial. Basic Roller Coaster Tycoon Fix!

Just stop the queue, paint, put up "wet paint" sign. Start queue.

120 Min Queue is 125 Min queue.:lookaroun:shrug::lol:

Still wouldn't work. By that logic, you place your cleaning man at the end of a 120 Min. queue, correct? Well he won't get to the end of the line...until 120 Minutes have passed. Depending on where he needed to paint, he would still have to wait for the line ahead of him to move regularly. But since you assume the problem is with the whole queue, again, it'd take him 120 Mins. to reach the end of the line. You've still closed the ride effectively for two hours.

Plus not to mention if you were in line BEFORE the cleaning man, the queue, to you, would still be "A mess" as this thread exaggerates.

The problem, even with your cleaning man, is still there, and you, the guest who got in line before or well after cleaning man, are still complaining. Not to mention the 5,000 people who won't get to ride because of spontaneous painting.

That's why they do it at night.

Sorry to say, but if Millions of people come to Walt Disney World, there can't be another Million personally sweeping, checking, and rechecking every step you're about to take.

Disneyland queues have look beaten up daily since 1955. Disney does their best, by cleaning every night and every morning. Still, there's an 11 hour gap where people come in, and as much as they DO clean it during the day, There's just no logic that can overcome the unpredictable.

Can't he just skip the line, go right to the wall, paint, stop people behind him and let people in front of him continue to ride?

This isn't a refurb for the whole queue, Travis, just painting out a offending swear word or something.

I am thinking a few cameras on the queue and ejection from the park for anybody caught vandalizing the queue. It might be a state of fear, but if Disney enacts severe penalties will either make people reconsider their actions or at least remove them, thereby possibly preventing more damage later in the day.

There was an Offending Swear Word?

Well I've never seen such graffiti in all my time at Disney World, I was talking about the usual Paint Chips/Scratches/Etc.

If there was an offending word graffiti'ed on the wall, Someone would have to report it for them to know about it, and that being the case, they'd verify it, close the queue, call upkeep and take it care of it.

I have never heard of any attraction going down for obscene words on the wall, so it's unlikely but I'll still file it under my "That'll be quite a day" ideas.

Reminds me when they pulled that gelato cart out from Italy some time ago because some idiot scrawled a four-lettered word on it.

It was back some time later, though.

We still arguing that it's OK for Disney to let its queues become disasters?

Because there's not one legit excuse.

They don't, so no.

(Well...At least at Midway Mania...Between you and me, Magic Kingdom really let's their queues go...:lookaroun  )

Word. Hopefully it gets fixed, soon...What's with Toy Story attractions and bad queues? BuzzSRS is terrible, too.

The last time I was on BuzzSRS was last September. It was extremely hot outside and it was worse in the queue area. When you have a hundred or so people crammed inside a small queue area, it tends to get a bit stuffy in there.

It's just gross in there. Especially if it rains. In Aug.

I wonder how long that line will be allowed to stay in the show?

In another clip he makes a Kanye West joke, followed by an aside to the audience "that happened *six* weeks ago, and it's still funny!". ;)

Though I think his Obama joke was getting a little too political for the parks...
