Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Maters scrapes the floor and it exposes the metal base, I think it is just a side effect of how the ride system works and nothing has been done to mitigate it. I saw the same in a video of the version at SHDL during their opening week.

Looking at pictures of Mater, I can't really see many scrapes... but that's the thing; it seems like it would be more easily concealed with the junkyard and Woody's Roundup theme. With the blue paint, I feel like it might be more obvious. Ah well, can't win 'em all.

I'm nearly immune to nostalgia and let me tell you... all those childhood toys are bringing back mem.... bringing ba... excuse me, I'm a bit verklempt.

While I'm composing myself, let me give you all a topic to discuss... Candy Land. It neither provides you with sweets nor real estate. Discuss.

Lord Licorice always creeped me out. Even in the new version where everyone has been cleaned up, I still get the impression that he likes little gingerbread boys in all the wrong ways.

I was oddly comfortable with Gloppy and Jolly.

Admittedly the setpieces in this land also make me nostalgic. No surprise as I like the TSM queue. Can’t wait to bring my kids to the land, thankfully with FPs to Slinky on 3 separate occasions.

So I just attended a CM + friends preview.

The QS wasn't open, sadly. Both rides were...

Alien is decent. However, they're going to have to refurb the floor practically every other night.. the smudges coupled with the blue floor doesn't lend itself as well to blending in as the brown does at Maters, I presume (which I've never experienced). Honestly, I wish it went a bit faster a la the tea cups, but families should be pleased enough.

Slinky was better than I was prepared for -- also slower -- nothing grand, but whimsical! If you can remember my standpoint, I just wasn't all that impressed with the idea of this land... especially with the budget cuts. However... I suppose it does its job, and it is very quaint. It's still quite a lot of land for what is there... which is a shame. But honestly, the theming is well enough to where it really underlines just how bad other areas in the park look.

Thanks for that rational and balanced review. Judging by pictures, it looks like both Swirling Saucers and Slink Dog Dash are going to be noticeably better experiences at night.

The Incredicoaster just opened yesterday at Disney California Adventure and it's getting mixed reviews, but is obviously a better experience at night. I imagine Toy Story Land attractions will also noticeably improve once the sun goes down.

The Slinky Dog coaster also looks much fun at night since the ride track is light up especially in motion as seen in one video.

I was supposing most families had already ridden TSM in the last 10 years. This would’ve been a wonderful opportunity to roll out new games to make a “new” ride for very little money. Maybe when Toy Story 4 comes out next summer and they need something to market for summer?
The last time they updated the ride was when TS3 came out so probably the best shot at new games.
