I think this is the frist time I post on here TSL is cute ,an issue is it only has one restaurant my mom did not like that fact ,the menu for it looks nice ,also no gift shop other then a cot .

The rides where cute and fun sadly I feel they would get long wait times up until MRR and SWGE open’s .

So I just attended a CM + friends preview.

The QS wasn't open, sadly. Both rides were...

Alien is decent. However, they're going to have to refurb the floor practically every other night.. the smudges coupled with the blue floor doesn't lend itself as well to blending in as the brown does at Maters, I presume (which I've never experienced). Honestly, I wish it went a bit faster a la the tea cups, but families should be pleased enough.

Slinky was better than I was prepared for -- also slower -- nothing grand, but whimsical! If you can remember my standpoint, I just wasn't all that impressed with the idea of this land... especially with the budget cuts. However... I suppose it does its job, and it is very quaint. It's still quite a lot of land for what is there... which is a shame. But honestly, the theming is well enough to where it really underlines just how bad other areas in the park look.
Thanks for sharing. Was this the first day that CMs were allowed on Alien Swirling Saucers?

I think it's odd how with everything that is happening surrounding Toy Story's presence in the parks, that they still haven't updated the head molds for the walk-around characters. I mean they've been using the same head sculpt for Buzz and Woody since the debut, and there is no way that those are prints from the original files. I think it's time for an update there.
Actually Woody had a different head back when the first film came out.

This post inspired me to fiddle around in Photoshop to see how they could look with an update -- done with little more than some liberal use of the Liquify tool:

Not quite perfect, but everything here was done with the bones of what we have already, I didn't edit anything into the photo that wasn't already there (save for the whites of some eyes -- and I de-fluffed Woody a little around the middle too, for some reason he always looks overstuffed). I made the effort to keep in mind the practicality of them needing to function in the parks and be good to their "friends". They could totally stand to be more on-model.

With the exception of Woody's eyes (which are penetrating my soul o_O) I like all of the improvements.

I've always found these characters odd looking and have never bothered to meet them as they just look wrong in their current versions.

I mean a Speedway style track that weaves in and around a coaster track.

For SlinkDog, they could have lengthened the track by having it do some flyovers/unders. Also, they didn't have to stretch it out and take up as much land. Hopefully, I'll ride it in November but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah but can you find a toy-story theme for the speedway? It would be very hard to pull off. If TSL was to get another attraction I would prefer the RC Racer that is found in DLP, HKDL and SDL.

I feel like you just answered your own question. A speedway themed to a kid's car track with lots of RC's going around would have actually been pretty nice. If we didn't want multiple RCs for "character integrity" (even though most of the toys in the films are mass produced and have clones), it could still be a Hot Wheels set instead.

An RC Speedway to the south of Saucers would also give Slinky Dog Riders something to see during the second half of the ride instead of a green shed.

Not sure, but maybe.. I'm not a CM, a friend of mine is.

There was a strictly CM event maybe a week ago and only Slinky was running then.

In any case, Alien hasn't been running that long and the vehicles have already scraped at the floor paint... not terribly so, but enough to where my CM friend pointed out (I wouldn't have noticed really..). So I guess that's an issue they don't really have to worry about Maters given the junkyard theme..

As far as Slinky being slower.. I guess I didn't really know what to expect. It was breezy.. exciting enough for the two rides I took.. And you get a great view of Star Wars and Tower of Terror. I've only been on Seven Dwarfs maybe 10 times and it didn't really feel as fast or exciting as that (probably the lack of little drops and turns).. the first "drop" (near Jessie) and the second launch are probably the most 'intense' parts of the ride.

Maters scrapes the floor and it exposes the metal base, I think it is just a side effect of how the ride system works and nothing has been done to mitigate it. I saw the same in a video of the version at SHDL during their opening week.

I'm caffeine deprived so my reading comprehension skills are a bit lacking today... Are you saying Slinky is worse than 7D or better?

Oops. Sorry. I've been typing on my phone.. And my original post was at 4am, so I haven't paid attention to my formatting in the last day. 🙈

I wouldn't say worse... to its credit, I guess it wasn't ever meant to be a ride on 7D's level? But it's not as "intense." It's whimsical... if you get a pleasent kick out of, say, a nice stroll in the (non-Disney) park, you will find joy with it. It is what it is.
