Well, at this moment (Sunday 6:30 PM), this tanking, terrible ride of FEA has as long or longer wait than Jungle Cruise, Dinosaur, Big Thunder, Tower of Terror and Soarin. Tsk, tsk... all those terrible rides.

FoP -80
SDD - 70
PP - 65
TT, Space Mt, 7DMT, RnRC, NRJ - 60
Splash - 50
Kali, JC, FEA - 45
Dino, BTMR, TSM - 40
M:S - 35
ToT, Pooh, HM, EE, Saucers - 30
Speed, Soarin, Buzz, Orbiter - 25
We were at Epcot tonight and the park felt empty which is a good thing. 45 minute wait is not bad.

This is probably one of those situations where what feels good to the guest does not feel good to the people who run the park. We'd all love to have the parks to ourselves, but they would close if we did.

My understanding is more that Epcot is having a weak summer. Thus the effort to bring new fireworks there with the understanding that it would be unwise to have the park limp along until it finally gets a new E-ticket in 18 or 19 months.
It's disappointing to think that in their effort to bolster the park in the meantime they might replace the most reliably impressive offering in Epcot. I hope the new show is nice, but I have no expectation that they will out-do Reflections of Earth. It is genuinely spectacular.

EDITED TO ADD: I feel a weird sense of honor over having one of my posts lead to page 666 of this thread.

It's so meta.

It's not just that, it's bi-coastal meta. Like maybe this actual Midway Mania on a real midway was the inspiration for the Toy Set? Maybe?

Mania's always fit better on the Pier (and it fits perfectly in Toyville Park). Not that something better couldn't be there but it "works". It's never fit for me at the Studios.

This isn't the first weak summer, either, I believe. Last year was pretty quiet.

I was terribly disappointed by the concept art and pictures, but when i finally got there last week, at 645 am, I was really surprised how much i enjoyed the land. Lets be clear about a few things, first this land did not add a new E ticket ride, but a D ticket family coaster and a flat ride. Both things MGM/DHS needed, family style rides that would be an alternative to the rides on Sunset Blvd. It also helps with the Mideway mania 80 minute line debacle, spreading those crowds between two attractions. The land itself was very cute, I was impressed with all the toy references, my mother and I spent a good 20 minutes finding toys that i played with as a child around the land. I was a child of the 90's, so was Andy so it was really cute. My mom, who normally says its a ride who cares about theming, told her sister "wow they made it like a little boys backyard and they had a new ride that they designed to look like a playset the boy set up." She got the story. Granted Star wars land looms from the one side and kinda ruins the illusion, but ottherwise it works. The fence looks great and the land does what it was supposed to do. I also must admit that I judge things based on what is there not what could have been, because I will always be dissapointed by the what if. Slinky was a suprisingly long ride, felt long all three times i road it and the alien flying saucers was a lot of fun. Those are are my thoughts I would have liked one more flat ride in there, mabye a parachutes or a Lugi like ride, but over it gets a B+.

It has great details. And I knew what to expect with the land, I had no higher expectations. It just would have nice to have it feel more "complete". Doesn't make what's there bad. It's a really fun area and the coaster was a nice surprise, even if it lacks show scenes.

Phase #2 is Trixie's Big Top Spin. Re-themed Tricera-Top-Spin from a leveled Dinorama ;)

I'm joking but you never know! :joyfull:

They do have the room for an expansion, if they want to (flat rides). But I doubt they do anytime soon. We're lucky to even get a Phase 1 much less a Phase 2

Wow Frozen Ever After wait time tanking. Epcot just isn't attracting a crowd right now. And wow Saucers have a higher then midway thats remarkable! I wonder where everthing will settle out in a years time after the wow it's new appeal wears off.
When I was there a few weeks ago Frozen broke down at noon and never reopened. It was kind of ridiculous they couldn't get it up and running, I bet there were tons of kids that were disappointed.

Toy Story Land expansion pad??

Start at 2:54

My favorite part, "It's a cast member rumor". I know most of us know (from the insiders here) this isn't happening. But when you tack on "cast member rumor", then it should be a instant write off. Two recent examples being: Imagination closing "soon" and Stitch closing "forever" only to reopen a month later for crowds.

Not attacking you or anything.

I personally liked how he said it was in his top 3 rides at HS.

If that means DHS/TSL gets another ride and it’s because Dinorama is leaving - I’m all for it. Honestly this would be a great repurposed location for TTS.

It was just a joke but I mean, you never know :joyfull:

Trixie isn't represented in the land ...

I highly doubt they'd tout a spinner as an expansion so it's not likely but lmao that would be hilarious if they did. They do need a few more flat rides, but a phase two doesn't seem to be in the cards. It could be an easy addition. I think we'll see things get re-used and re-purposed. Just a hunch. Again, this was just a joke but this is the company that's blatantly moving Flick's and re-theming it to Inside Out to fit a tacky pier. So you never know. I don't rule anything out, we really don't know what their plans are. Many probably didn't expect Pixar Pier, Guardians to Tower of Terror in California ...

LOL. Very good point. That they did. I'd accept it more for TSL though. I'm still bitter about those carpets, even if I don't mind them, per say. The location is awful. (And lazy; where's our Aladdin dark ride?). They shoehorned Agrabah in instead of expanding.

I probably should have rephrased how I said it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks WDW's representation of Aladdin is lazy. I'm not against those spinners like sum because they are fun rides, especially the elevated Tomorrowland versions but that whole Adventurland addition was awful!

It was! I kept thinking how great it would have been to even get a basic version of Agrabah like in Paris. Even with a spinner. But they had to put in the middle of the land. Like in Disneyland with Tomorrowland's spinner. It just makes no sense for places that need all the walking space they can get. And Disneyland seems in no hurry to correct this. I'm surprised it's not an issue for MK (they could be but they don't have the money to do it, which sounds insane for parks that make a lot of money). Adventureland becomes a bottleneck. The parks at WDW have really suffered due to lack of proper expansion. I'm not saying use up every space but the days of replacing should be slim to none.

That was one of the big problems for both American resorts after Paris opened and immediately flopped. The constant stagnation, especially on the east coast was horrible, and when additions came they seemed to be low cost copy's of stuff from Paris (Disneyland's Tomorrowland and MK's Adventurland) Or just under built greatness (Animal Kingdom). I know most of the additions and changes being made today are very controversial but I'm just glad to finally see some major investment in the parks, and that a new theme park war is on the rise with Universal again.

I'm glad to see investment too. And while I'm not knocking it, it's playing catch up for all those years we got nothing or lackluster projects. And many are clones. But at least we're getting some expansions for a change and new attractions. It goes a LONG way to making the parks feel fresh again. It's long overdue.

But you said it, and I fear that we go down the same road. We're already hearing the FOX thing could impact projects. Like the last time we had any little investment. Remember the days of a refreshed Haunted Mansion 10 years ago? The opening of Toy Story Mania. The idea of a Monsters Inc. Door Coaster? Mysterious Island going to Animal Kingdom. And now we're back to hoping we get things. At least the floodgates opened. It makes it hard to close the doors again. I just want to know they plan to keep the momentum going. It's great now but what happens next? Do we get what we got last time? Some nice additions but lots of overlays that we're stuck with for another 20 years?

I'd like them to actually detail some plans to us for a change but that doesn't seem to be how they do it. I want it laid out like they do with the other resorts. Not announcements here and there and we're left guessing and hoping they follow through.

But don’t forget that this time Universal is heating the fire with the rumours of their new park and other expansions. I know the Fox deal will have an impact, but they have to keep investing to stay on top of this universal war. If they don’t the ranks might shift.
