Currently it’s probable Pixar Place will be used short term as an overflow for people to stand. Add a few tables and a meet n greet and it will be a safety valve for a park that’s lost too much elbow room.

Note the new gate posts ready to take the standard backstage gates.

Do you know what will they do with the "black hole" on SWGE?? Can it be connect to the ex-Pixar Place? maybe the Resort entrance?
I think they might have close pixarplace for something related to the ex GMR? cause if I am not wrong, the backstage building of the GMR is right there on the EX PixarPlace? maybe somthing to do with the AC units they might need for the new heavyproyector ride

Epcot has to be having a weak Summer. When we were there at the end of July, the only ride over a 60 minute wait was Test Track. We walked on to Frozen Ever After and Soarin'. Honestly, I have never seen Soarin' under a 35 minute stand by in the Summer. The only park that was fairly busy when we went was the Magic Kingdom and the lines still were not that long. Besides Splash and 7DMT nothing was over 60 minutes.
Are you sure?

Because that's Epcot at 12:25am in the middle of August.

Yeah, I am sure. I was there for 2 weeks in the dead of Summer and the lines were nonexistent. Also, it has been regularly reported that this was true. I was just backing that up with personal experiences. More than likely, times are going to be going back up because last minute summer vacations are starting. I have been going to Disney for a while during July and August. I have to say, I do know what the typical crowds look like.

I still for the life of me don't understand why the didn't leave Pixar Place as a thoroughfare (at least long term, even if they shut it down right now with TSL opening) and had it be a third entrance for SW:GE. It's in a solid location to allow for it and would facilitate crowd control when SW:GE is mobbed.

The only reason I can see is because it would run through the potential "expansion pad" for the land, but I feel like they could have moved stuff around the still leave enough undeveloped space in that area for expansion for SW while allowing for the third entrance for the land.

I wonder if Pixar Place will be used as the external queue to get into SWGE, going around the back side of TSMM and down the road between SWGE and TSL. That way the line to SWGE does not back into TSL.
If they do that they will have to hide some bad backstage sight lines and smells.

I think it’s more likely that they’ll use MuppetVision’s queue as an overflow if Grand Avenue backs up too much. With that in mind, I doubt it will be too necessary on a regular basis, since the park will hit capacity right around the time the wait gets ridiculous.

Opening day, though.... god help us.

Are you saying for entry at the TSL gate? Because we’ve been told by insiders that’s “exit only” for the foreseeable future of SW:GE. So the switchbacks at Grand Avenue are the only overflow lines “needed.” You’d need to route crowds either across the hub or behind Great Mickey Ride to make Pixar Place work for overflow.
