I can ride everything at Walt Disney World but Space Mountain. I loved the ride years ago, but now my back will hurt the rest to the day after just one ride on Space Mountain. Disney got to fix this once they get Torn up and running.
Reminds me of that quote: "If it's too loud, you're too old!"

WALT'S ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE AAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!
No first hand knowledge here, but, I think Walt quit giving a damn many years ago. His legacy is firm and will not change regardless of what generations to come attempt to shape the original into.

Why would they build a merch store for a land on the other side of the park?

Merch for most franchises can be found spread out in almost every store.

But it is funny how people complain about the exit of rides drops you into a store; and then when WDW doesn't have a dedicated store next to the ride, people also complain.

Unpleasable fanbase.

Pin designs have gotten out for the land.

No pricing or anything, but I imagine $16 for the "I played there" pin and $10 for the rest. If the opening day is like the Epcot 35th "I Was There!" pin, you'll be able to get it for a few months after the land opens.

Out of curiosity and to gain a reference point, I looked back to see when Pandora’s opening date was announced as that too opened on Memorial Day Weekend. It was announced on 2/7, which is only a few weeks away from now.

Is this a good reference point? Do we think the TSL opening will be officially announced in the next few weeks if in fact the rumors about Memorial Day Weekend are true?

Could it open sooner? How close are we to WDI handing over the keys to ops? DHS needs this land in a way DAK didn’t with Pandora, they need more capacity like now.

I’m thinking they’re going to try for Spring Break season.

What I’m looking for is a round about answer as to how far in advance of something opening is it announced. I would think and hope that if it were to open around spring break times that it’s opening would’ve been announced already.

I thought the building to your immediate left when you enter the land was a store-possibly themed to Al’s Toy Barn? If not, what is that building?

Enter from which end?

Sorry- I was not specific. When you enter over by where the Jack Sparrow attraction was. I understand the original woody area was scrapped but as you come in from that end (by the current entrance of midway) there is a small building to your left (as if you were headed toward the coaster). What is that building if not merch?
