Wow! I had forgotten about the Copperfield restaurant. This is a long list, and you're even leaving out a lot of World Showcase pavilions that had "coming soon" signs and/or announcements: Switzerland, Denmark, Israel, to name a few.

And to be fair, 2/3 of Thunder Mesa was essentially built, if not in the original planned form. Just not the Western River Expedition.

I know you know all this, Martin. I just like visiting What-If Land. :)

I'm hopeful for whatever changes may occur. Not because I am certain that they'll result in an improvement, but because I just like to be hopeful. If anything, it'll cause some interesting reactions on here. The land isn't something I'm excited for in the first place. I just hope that TSMM is rerouted and rerouted well.

I stand corrected.

The number of projects announced and then cancelled has greatly decreased in recent years though. Probably because it's far more difficult to cancel an announced project in 2016 than in the days before the internet, social media, and fan conventions like D23. And because they are more finiancially stable now. And because they are more careful about what and when they announce. You could maybe use the fact that they're less ambitious. Lots of reasons. Under Iger, I believe they've never announced a new ride and then cancelled.

So it's very likely that TSL won't get cancelled.

Disney seriously needs to reconsider this. This is not what we expect from Disney at all. Ugh.

Really though... Trim down TSL to drop either the coaster or aliens, build Monstropolis with mega-e-ticket Door Coaster, Harry Housins, and a show, and then a third little Pixar mini area with a solid C or D dark ride. Drastically improves plans IMO

I'd be totally behind this and I don't really understand why something like that wasn't the plan from the start. DHS needs a bunch of smaller scale attractions to round things out (and compliment the larger scale E-tickets coming with Star Wars) more than what they announced with TSL.

If they had started to build what was show in the original concept art as soon as the back lot tour closed this land could be open by now and help carry the park over until the SWL and other additions are built.

I think this also factors into how a lot more people were excited about the land when it was initially announced than now. When we first heard about it, I assumed the finish goal was around the end of 2016. Never would have imagined it would be later than 2017 at all. Now, with this supposed "quick fix" land still so far away from opening, I think a lot of the hype has (and is) decreased/decreasing.

Oh, and not to mention the cuts :p

I'd rather not even have the ride and have the money to expand elsewhere in the park at this point. With more cuts on what exists now, it just doesn't even seem worth it.
I think that's exactly what's going on. As I'm sure the costs rise for SWL like they did for Avatar, the costs will be cut on TSL. This does not bode well for the Mickey ride...
I don't see how it could be cut down any more then was shown in the last concept art.
