Did I tell you to not be disappointed? No. Go ahead and be disappointed. ;). I am still holding out that it is a concept video/art that is constantly changing or simply not giving a "complete" picture of exactly what is going in every single spot.
I am disappointed at your disappointing!

And since I am in the mod, have an adorable cat!

I understand, but a concept video/art is going to change. It is also not going to be 100% accurate of the final result. It is more of a "could be" thing. The art that showed walkways UNDER the SlinkyDog coaster always bothered me because (I may be wrong here) I didn't think the insurance company Disney uses would allow that to happen. There have been several artistic representations of this land so far. I am just not sure why everyone is so upset that their idea of what this land should be is not happening. It may be a sucky land, or it could be amazing. From what I can tell people just seem to be making assumptions based on concept art and calling that gospel.
They can always add safety nets themed to the green soldiers.

#1 - Your cat is more gorgeous than most humans.

#2 - When I first saw the concept art showing the paths under the coaster I remember thinking that things like that are usually not allowed. I don't want to go so far as to say that it hasn't been done before at another park somewhere, but it just seems like the insurance company would lose it if they saw that.

Mako goes flying mere feet above the walkway. There is nothing unusual or dangerous about walkways below a roller coaster.

I could be wrong, but I predict Disney is self-insured, at least to some point.

Besides, California Screamin, out at DCA, travels over several guest areas. It's not out of the question, and if nothing else, it adds a bit of kinetics to the park. Walt and the original team LOVED kinetics, with the Frontierland and Western areas of DL being the biggest example. The more variety of modes of transportation they could have intertwining, the better. Watercraft, horse-drawn carriages, the train going by, and all around walking paths.

LGM Swirling Saucers. Of course, that'd require them to acknowledge the Buzz cartoon's name for the Pizza Planet aliens and they hate the idea acknowledging that show in anything. Even took out the figure of Booster that was in the Buzz giftshop.
Just out of curiosity, is the mural with Commander Neubula still there?

And TL in DL is another prime example of this. You had submarines, "cars", a people mover, and the monorail all intersecting. And as for the more general question of rollercoaster tracks going over pedestrial walkways, this happens in many parks. A "local" example would be Kumba in BGT; the track actually corkscrews over one of the pedestrian paths. Now of course, there may be newer construction/insurance codes that now restrict this...

LOL. @JohnWD -- like, what in the world are you talking about?!? Oh never mind that. I finally watched the video.

And, I just have to thank you so much for tagging me about this, it means the world to me. As you know, I have been following Toy Story Playland when it just a rumor. Oh my.... that was well over *two* years ago!,

Here is the epic & original Toy Story Playland thread when it was all just a rumor. http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/toy-story-playland.892865/ Good times. LOL.

And, back then we were all *so* excited about the prospect of getting this, lol.

I even accurately predicted where Disney would place Toy Story Playland. Again, over two years ago!

Now it's confirmed that we're getting this. Yay!
TSL-Overview.jpg

So okay, it's not the original concept that we were hoping for. But, it is still a major improvement over the Toy Story Land Paris that we originally thought we were getting..

DHS is in desperate need of family style attractions, so I remain hopeful and will wait & see the final product before judging.

Oh, and @JohnWD, you can tag me any time you want! I just love getting the most recent Disney news!
I fail to see how TSL is any better than TSPL. Different cheap rides doesn't mean better rides. Just different.

And why does everyone keep saying DHS needs more cheap carnival rides? No! No, it doesn't! It needs more capacity that interests children. It DOESN'T need more carnival rides. There is not a Disney park out there that needs more carnival rides.

I agree in concept, but in practice I'm like - good, a place I never will need to go and helps suck people in (even if it's to standing in line for these cycle rides).

That said - I think it's absolutely ridiculous that Toy Story is getting more attention. If they needed to do Pixar, fine - but there are so many other Pixar films and Toy Story is already well represented at the parks.

So Mater's is cheap? And our Slinky COULD be a better experience. Maybe wait and actually ride it? But I agree with you.

It needs more rides, PERIOD. DCA got away with their Bugs Land AND Paradise Pier nonsense ... nothing wrong with DHS doing the same but they also need more dark rides and thrill rides. The park needs a LOT more than it's getting.

Really? They got away with the PP nonsense at DCA? DCA cost $630 mil. They spent $1.5 Billion fixing it. That's "getting away with" it? I hope that the current DHS' fix doesn't require another billion $$$ fix after they finish fixing it.

Sorry, that was the wrong way to phrase it.
