Hi all,
Since I am new here I want to be sure to point out that I am not trying to stir the pot or attack anybody.
I believe that the policy on not posting copyrighten (sp) material is more to protect the owner of the website/board. Disney is absolutely the most aggresive protector of their copyright in the business. As an example of how bad they are, when I worked for Kinko's (years ago) they would have people come around and ask for a couple of color copies of Mickey Mouse or some other character. A few days later a very nasy letter from Disney's attorneys would arrive threatening a lawsuit against the entire company if we violate their copyright ever again!
With an attitude like that it should be easy to see why Steve wants to protect himself. And why we should be willing to respect his policy. Not as a matter of enforcing morality regarding the theft/sharing/sampling of copywritten material but to protect this community that we all enjoy being a part of.
