If it is anything, it's going to be a while before we see it in action. They still haven't figured out how to make the tech work in a theme park environment.

Not necessarily true. The EMVs did not take too long of a time from creation to the first ride.

Is Tony a genius? Or do we really have that few people with great ideas?
Most of what you've seen in Big Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure (DL), Journey into Imagination (original), and Splash Mountain is thanks to this great individual. :D

I love love love love LOVE Tony Baxter... he has always been my favorite Imagineer... I have no doubt he has designed another ingenious contraption that will make us all very happy... If I wanted to send him mail does anyone know how i'd do it?

He is probibly talking about the new robocoaster on a track system they are developing for an incredibles E ticket at DCA. No joke.

I believe that rumor about as much as I believe that Universal cancelled their Van Helsing Robocoaster because of internet rumors...

Tony came up with Figment. He also designed and came up with idea for Soarin'. People may say otherwise, but he was responsible for it.

In my opinion Disney's greatest unbuilt land.
I know I don't know any Imagineers, I just read a lot of books and do a lot of searching around on the web.

SO is there a lot of difference between Indy's ride system and Spidey's? Because I've never been to Indy, and Spidey is just the most amazing attraction I experienced when I was down there in 99. The idea of a dark ride mixed with a sim and a 3D movie is just unbelievable.

Spiderman is if you will a 3 axis motion base (Star Tours) on a moving platform - with the ability to spin. An EMV (Indy, Dinosaur) recreates the 3 axis movement in a more limited way using pistons in each corner, but again on a moving platform. The biggest difference ride-wise is an EMV can`t spin more than a few degrees, if at all.

Maybe some sorta "EXTREME!!!111!!!" take on the Peoplemover or an Omnimover attraction, I don't see how an EMV or a scoop could take that fast to load...

Maybe a trackless EMV?

That would be pretty darn cool. This probably makes the most sense for the future, since they are beginning to work with all these new Animatronics that can go places by themselves and dont really need any CMs to take care of them. Im mentioning this because if it was a trackless EMV or something to that nature...it wouldnt have any restraints, it would just be in its own control. Which can be kindof freaky...but extremely cool at the same time. I mean the only way i could see that happening is if its a road or something instead of a track. It does seem pretty unrealistic, but cool to imagine!

The trackless EMV wouldn't be too much of a stretch. I could be wrong, but I believe that the elevators in the fifth dimension show scene of TOT do their forward motion between elevator shafts without a track, just sensors. I also think that the Univserse of Energy ride vehicles are not attached to their track, merely guided by it.
