Okay, so I will finally be eating breakfast at Kona Cafe in August and I have heard so much buzz on these two menu items. Please help me decide, vote and sell it to me! I can't wait!!:slurp:

MMMMMMMMMMM :slurp: Sooo good!

An extremely thick slice of sourdough bread that is stuffed with a layer of delicious bananas and then deep fried and coated with cinnamon sugar with a strawberry compote as an optional choice for added sweetness. :slurp:

Accompany this delectable delight with crispy bacon and wonderful cheesy scrambled eggs and a tall glass of Konas signature coffee or Lilikoi Juice, and you're in breakfast heaven! :sohappy:

OH MY LORD! Well done, that looks and sounds amazing. Keep them coming Kona lovers, I know you are out there.
Thank you Mickeysshoes, I knew there would be those votes too, my DH would never go for either, but I opted to leave that choice out in my poll because I will definitely be ordering one of the above. :)

Pineapple macadamia nut pancakes are my favorite. Their beauty is in their simplicity. Pancakes just kicked up a notch or two. Tonga toast, while good, is just to much bread, sugar, etc and I have never cared for the texture of the banana stuffing.

:sohappy: It is delicious! Now, I've never had the Pineapple Macadamia nut pancakes, but i dont really like macadamia nuts and I've always liked french toast over pancakes. Im sure they're delicious as well, but I think it comes down to what you really like more. Soooooo, my suggestion is to order both! :lol: Then you can see what YOU like more. :D

Ha! I was just coming back in here to post...too bad you couldn't order a half plate of both. I also prefer French toast to pancakes but I love macadamia nuts and pineapple! Decisions, decisions....I will probably have to convince someone in my party to order the other so I can at least have a taste of both! They both just sound so fabulous to me!

Tonga Toast FTW :king: :sohappy::sohappy::king:

The pancakes... eh.. I didnt like the nuts... and the icky crushed pineapple tasted like it was from a can... and very very bland... and they put a mountain of the crap on top of it. :hurl: Wasnt a fan.

Definitely would be nice if there was a combo plate with both dishes!

Glad to see this poll because I've been wondering this myself as well for an upcoming trip. I agree with your decision to convince someone else in your party to order the other one. I planned to convince my daughter to share both as well!

I vote for this! Get both. I had the Tonga Toast last time and really enjoyed it. The Lilikoi juice and the wasabi bloody mary were also great.
This trip, I will order the pancakes.

Wow ... tough decision!! When we are at Kona Cafe, we do the obvious... DH gets the macadamia pancakes, I get the tonga toast and we split it. Both are fabulous!!!!! :wave:

The only other place you can find it is at Captain Cooks at the Poly. Boatwright's at PORS served it when they served breakfast but that stopped several years ago. RFC has a menu item called Tonga toast but it is nothing more than plain old everyday french toast.
