News Tomorrowland love

We all keep talking as if Iger cares at all about consistency in theming. I can almost guarantee that whatever is added is simply going to be an excuse to pump in characters. The Incredibles looks to have taken place in an alternate 1960's. Tron is only futuristic if you think that we're working toward being able to fully inhabit a computer-generated world. Wreck-It Ralph is about a 1980's video game character. Buzz Lightyear is a toy. At this point, Tomorrowland has no theme. They should just go ahead and change the name to something else.
While I agree that the toonification of Tomorrowland isn't great, not everything has to be *in the future* to fit the land.
It sometimes only needs to feel "futuristic"
And it's always been like this.

CoP has always been mostly about the past.
America Sings was about the past.
Adventure thru Inner Space was about science
Dreamflight was about airflight.
Submarine Voyage was about deep sea exploration.

Tomorrowland has always had a loose thematic connection between all the rides

America Sings, Adventure Through Inner Space and the Submarine Voyage were never part of WDW's Tomorrowland....and the idea of being shrunk down to the size of an atom was very futuristic as that "Science" was and is still futuristic fiction... I will agree with If You Had Wings/Dreamflight and COP...a bigger offender in my mind is Stitch which is not futuristic really, and Monsters Inc....which would be great in an expanded Pixarland at the studios... but not in Tomorrowland.

Between ESPN's issues and the impending Fox acquisition, I would be shocked to pieces if Iger has spent more than 3 seconds addressing individual theming details of particular park areas.

Stitch and Buzz fit just as well as Sonny Eclipse.

They're all about space aliens. which is a perfect fit for TL'94.
Doesn't matter what time they take place in.

It’s Timeless :D

Time! The theme that could save Tomorowland!

Imagine if the concept of time was the foundation of every Tomorrowland ride or attraction. Exploring the past, present and future. As a unifying element; no longer would Tomorrowland be a hodgepodge dumping ground for IPs that sorta fit. I think more should be done to give Tomorrowland a clear identity instead of letting it waste away as "generic science-fiction land" a land that for the most part isn't so timeless.

When were the guides installed? (Year)

I've tried to find the exact time myself, but have never been able to come to a concrete conclusion. I've actually seen photos from as early as Jul '64 that have the guide rails already installed. The Midget Autopia always had the guide rails (and much narrower track) though since it was specifically designed for little tykes only.

now that's blue sky thinking right there! lol
lol Being a realist or realistic has no place in armchair imagineering! Imagination first. Practicality comes second. That's for those imagineers to figure out! I do think Speedway however popular could be better utilized elsewhere. MK needs the space. There's plenty of space out in space, but not so much in Tomorrowland. You could fit 3 good size rides or great E-darkride in the area that Speedway takes up. Not that there's really any room in TSL for a kart ride thanks to their wasted land layout.

but the speedway would fit next to Test Track...all around and under the Testr Track elevated road... I think at one time that was part of the Project Gemini idea...

Not a terrible idea. Project Gemini had a few decent plans. If that's the case don't see a need for there to be another speedway in MK. They may as well go for it! Free up Tomorrowland for better somethings.
