A track replacement built to the exact specifications of the original ride, On-board audio, and a meaningful return of the exit displays would be great.. A mid-century modern space age family home of future living... Play the non-branded version of "Here's To The Future" theme at the exit.... They recorded two versions...one mentioning RCA and the other does not...Same orchestrations and all.

I think a lot of people that say it is rough have never ridden a wooden coaster before. Compared to those space mountain is super smooth.
Yes but how many people ride those wooden coasters yearly? Say a park like Carowinds or Six Flags Great America...maybe 1 million rides? Magic Kingdom brings in WAY more guests and their major rides do way more than a standard amusement park...and with the ridiculous amount of money they have on hand to build and refurbish rides compared to the chump change Six Flags or Cedar Fair shells out yearly...most guests EXPECT Disney’s rides to be far superior...and smoother.

Well comparing Six Flags and Cedar Fair to anything but coasters is pretty pointless because they’re meant to be coaster parks, regardless of what they try to claim. Disney certainly destroys them for dark rides, theming, and variety overall. But as far as coasters go, Disney rarely ranks very high (only Tron ranked 35 on top steel for 2019 for the Golden Tickets, only Everest ranked 46 in 2018). Ultimately all these coasters are now built by the same few companies for all parks, smoothness is generally consistent unless poorly maintained. Basically anything now built by Vekoma (Disney’s favorite), B&M, or RMC will be ultra smooth.

On the topic of coaster smoothness, the condition of a ride vehicle's wheel assembly can make a difference as well. A worn or poorly calibrated assembly can make a coaster feel much rougher even if the track is glass smooth. It's no different than driving around in your car on new, properly aligned tires versus severely worn or out of alignment ones.

Nice to see more visible progress on ornamentation removal from the PeopleMover. Wonder if the end goal is to just "restore" it to the original 1970's look that's still in use near the Space Mountain restrooms, or to go in a new direction for the whole thing.
