Tom Staggs at WDW

I wouldn't get worked up about his visit. A person in his position should visit the parks from time to time. While it could be that he is here for some project meetings, it could also mean absolutely nothing. He could simply be checking up on Fantasyland or Test Track progress.

Hopefully he rides Energy while there and makes the decision to greenlight a complete overhaul.

And perhaps he will visit DTD some evening so he can see the potential of the place.

Just my wishlist.

He is visiting the Norway pavilion and Ellen's energy adventure. Not sure what else
I heard he is a big fan of Carlsberg beer. Plus it helps to be a little buzzed before looking at Ellen.

Seriously, he's probably checking out progress on Test Track.

As Chairman of the parks you'd think he'd be visiting a lot more frequently than he does. I'm guessing he's probably heading that way to check in on the FE progress etc.

You really seem like someone who has a good handle on the corporate politics within TDO.

I keep hearing there is going to be a shakeup soon with TDO (and maybe TDA to some degree). Is Staggs secure in his position?

And more importantly, is he the kind of leader that TDO needs to reinvigorate DHS the way they brought new life to DCA.

Is Staggs a guy who would crack skulls and get them to stop thinking of "Value-Imagineering" for everything?

I don't know a lot about the man and would love your opinion.

It's what it took with FLE. I'm guessing that's what it's going to take until TDO has a mass exodus in 2015.

This makes me hopeful he's the next CEO, if it's true.

What's happening in 2015 that will prompt a big exodus? I have not heard about this. Share the scoop if you've got it!

I'd be very interested in learning more. Based on my observations of WDW over the last few years, I don't see much evidence of this but perhaps his view of quality is different than mine. What areas of quality is he pushing?

I'd love to know if there is anything you like about the parks. I've yet to see you post anything positive about them. Is the glass ever half-full in your opinion when it comes to Disney?

Not hiding any scoop. That would require me being an insider.;)

Spirit and others have hinted that whenever Iger leaves a lot of TDO will be leaving with him. Iger is supposed to be gone by 2015. However, if he truly does have political ambitions, and depending on what he wants to run for, he may be gone even sooner by 2014.

I'd like to believe this (and I do trust the source) but I'd have to hear a whole lot more first ...

I don't know of anything extravagantly exciting, but we can thank him for better food at some of the quick service locations and at the Art of Animation, and for the general refurbishing that has MAGICally been in progress at WDW for the last two years. His visits seems to mostly be along the lines of saying, "Why isn't this the way it's supposed to be" rather than, "Why have you people been reluctant to make WDW the beacon of creativity and innovation that it once was?" But even the first question is better than just nodding and walking along, as Rasulo used to do.

Now if Staggs would only kill NexGen Fastpasses and force a DHS makeover and new E-tickets at the MK and Epcot, fans would be demanding a large window for him on Main Street. ;)

Because people think he is Magically different than the man who worked for him at Strategic Planning and now has his former job?

Our family loves Disney and I've been going for over 30 years, long enough see the changes first hand. Sadly, not all the changes are for the best. As I've posted before, it's similar to love-hate relationships many sports fans have with their favorite teams.

Edit: The following post summarizes my current opinion of WDW:
