I secretely hope that the weeks leading to the 35th are making visitors (locals) wait for that. I'm going to be in TDR from May 13 - 15 so wouldn't mind if it's slower than usual :angelic:

Well, Some other offerings might not start til july 10. But Celebration Street, Mickey Mouse Monuments scattered both land and Sea and Dreaming Up! are going to be awsome. Press preview might start on april 10 2018. and A special Party Nights on April 13 and 14 with the grand
celebration on the 15.

We are planning to go visit TDL and TDS on 4/16-4/18 does this kind of stuff affect the crowds ?
You'll have the first few days effect. Everyone wanting to see the new parade at Disneyland and harbor show at DisneySea. I'd say no more busy than the first week of a normal event from what I can tell.
