Tinkerbell Meet and Greet

This is the plan:

Now, the time line is what you've all been waiting for. When's it going to happen? Well, the Pal's Room will be closing in November, and the hope is that it will reopen in January. In January, the two Princess Rooms will close and there will be construction in those rooms (kind of a minor rehab that needs to be done)

But there will ONLY be 1 Fairy Room

Well, we just got back last week, and DH and I said that we wouldn't be able to return next year, maybe the year after. (We have things we HAVE to get done around the house) BUUUUTTT... With all these new additions coming for 2008, I'm thinking waiting on those things around the house won't kill us for one more year!!!!:animwink:

I don't see how they are goign to do that considering it will be using the same lines you use to get to the princess room and pals room.

It won't be a gradual shrinking in the mode of the Nemo Ride where you slowly go underwater. You will walk in the room and suddenly be smaller.

aren't there 3 rooms total?? I know one of the queues in the tent was empty with nothing on it not even a wait time during MNSSHP, while another had no characters listed but still had a wait time.

During MNSSHP there really is only one room in use and only 2 sets of characters: Cinderella and Prince Charming and Aurora and Prince Phillip.

During regular days:....Highlight the text below to spoil the magic
:zipit::zipit::zipit:
There are 2 princess rooms and one pals room. The same princesses are in the two rooms most of the time. It is just a way of accomodating as many Princess fans as possible. There are only 3 Princesses to see, but it is done in two rooms.

If at anytime you see only 2 characters shown at the entrance to the line, you might go into a room and see only two characters, or you will go into the room and see the two characters listed plus a surprise guest. It might be the character that is usually in that room, but it might also be a really unique character that was available. Don't get your hopes up though.
:zipit::zipit::zipit:

It might not have occurred to anyone that a new space might be built in MK for the Fairies.
Something to tink about.
I kill me.

That might be true, but then again, I've SEEN Imagineers in the Pals Room photographing it and scoping it out for refurbishment. They might be replicating it for another building, but most likely they are assessing it for refurbishment.

ahem... cough cough.. it's not empty.. cough cough.

You be quiet:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

This is the plan:

The Pal's room is going to be gone completely, so you will no longer meet those characters there. Instead, Donald (and SOMETIMES Daisy) will be able to be met at Donald's house. Goofy will be at his house, and Pluto may either be with Mickey or with Minnie (I still have to ask about that)

Everything in your post was great till you got to the part about Donald and Goofy having a house. They don't.

And while I like the idea of a little rehab on the princess rooms (*wishing* ala the Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique in the Castle *wishing*), now I have to question that since you didn't know that Donald and Goofy don't have a house in Toon Town. Besides, where are we going to put the girls during the rehab?

I just wish Tink would never have a meet and great. I just want to think of her as always just flying around the world.

Well, plans always change around there. A few months ago the idea was to build the Fairies their own tent...but at Disney, it's never true until guests are experiencing it. :)

Just wondering what happened to the plan to have the fairy meet and greet in a space created in the Fantasyland terminus of the old skyway system? I had heard/read somewhere that that was a fairly concrete plan in the works - as the landing station already has queues built-in, exits, etc and would be able to be quickly and inexpensively converted over to this use. ??

So does anyone know when the auditions are exactly? Aparently they have already had one audition but I have heard there might be another one next friday. Can anyone confirm this?

check on disneyauditions.com ..... if there isn't anything listed then there's a possibility they are open to current CMs only

Ummm...there are 3. And did you forget the Hundred Acre Woods Characters?

:king:~Leash

The Hundred Acre Woods Characters are seen outside Pooh's Playground. Yes, one line used to be Princesses, one pals and one Pooh. But that has long since changed.

I am still holding out hope that they will put it in the Fantasyland Skyway building. To me, it seems the Magic Kingdom's future for expansion will lie largely in reclamation of unused or wasted space (the Veranda, the Skyway stations, Pooh's Playful Spot, etc.). While I have reservations about a Tink face character (ok with me as long as she doesn't talk), the meet and greet in the Skyway seemed a great use of that empty building.

I presented the idea of putting the fairies in the Skyway to the Imagineers over a year ago and they told me as much as they liked the idea they didn't like reserving an area for a specific group of characters. I think it's a terrible shame to put the fur character out in the sun again and I think we should protest it. I suppose they don't really listen to the guests, do they? Just so you know, Goofy only gets about half an hour of shade over at the Barnstormer all day.

I totally agree on the shade issue!

So, is it possible we could meet Tink the last week in Jan or will it be mid-to late 2008? We'd LOVE to meet her and this will be our last trip for several years...:(

If you can't deal with the job conditions, you're in the wrong job. Being a character is never going to be an easy job, and the idea that all the characters need to be in air conditioned, rubber rooms with nicely decorated tarps for photo backdrops is distinctly unmagical and unrealistic. There is always something to complain about.

Tink will talk, as will her fairy friends. They talk in their movie which comes to DVD next year. I doubt that Tink's room will be ready by the end of January.

And for an Imagineer to say they don't like giving an unused space to a dedicated group of characters, that's ridiculous. It's not being used now and it's not like so many projects are waiting to snap it up.

Whaaat. That's dumb.

I thought it could be kind of fun to see a Tinkerbell character that has to pantomime all her expressions instead of talking, like she does in the movie (the REAL movie :) ) I mean, I can see that maybe they want them to interact with the kids as much as they can, but then none of the fur characters can talk either. Not to mention there is a whole ton of expressions/emotions that a human face can express without talking as opposed to the character heads that don't move at all.

Yeah, your word "house" may mean something different to us. For me, it means "their respective location"

Where else do you think you would meet Donald other than at his boat? And where else do you think you would meet Goofy other than HIS Barnstormer. That's where they're going, deal with it

And the PAL'S ROOM is being renovated, and it MAY be ready by Pirates and Princess parties of next year. The Princess Rooms will be renovated one at a time (if at all) That is a rumor that may or may not come to pass. Thosep oor princesses can only hope.
