The Tomorrow Show
Attention all Earthlings, Live from Yew Nork on the planet Zork, this is Sonny Eclipse!
X-S tried it, the Galactic Federation took it over, but no matter which science/government organization took over the old X-S Tech transportation building, it seemed the program was doomed. After the escape of the dastardly Experiment 626, the old building was stripped from the inside, the chamber condemned to the deepest reaches of space, and the building itself laid vacant.
Meanwhile, one day, a talent scout from the planet Lanigironu was exploring Tomorrowland when he stumbled into an old dive of a diner called Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe where he discovered the wildly popular with locals, lounge singer Sonny Eclipse, a zorkian from Yew Nork City on the planet Zork. Upon listening to Eclipse's set, the agent asked if Eclipse wanted to sign with him. It took years, but Eclipse went from being a small diner entertainer to a world(s) famous intergalactic celebrity.
The agent, whose name will remain anonymous for it is unpronounceable to mortal human tongue, was able to build up Sonny's career to the point where Intergalactic television gave him his own talk show. Now filmed live every Schmlaterday night in the former teleportation building is the hit show "The Tomorrow Show starring Sonny Eclipse"!
In this animatronic show, an animatronic Sonny Eclipse sits on stage behind his Astro Keyboard in a set that is very reminiscent of a Jimmy Fallon or Conan O'Brien set where the Astro Keyboard serves as his desk and he has a pair of couches next to them. The animatronic works much like Mike Wazowski and the other Monsters in the Laugh Floor attraction, where the character is voiced by an actual cast member, allowing them to interact with the audience in personal ways. In fact, this attraction is very reminiscent of the Laugh Floor, including running jokes with people in the audience.
Of course, Sonny would be nothing without the classical group of Space Angels that play and sing alongside him. As a reference to the live bands often used in talk shows (particularly The Roots), three microphones are lined up in a row, empty (as the angels are invisible of course) but their beautiful melodic voices can be heard throughout the show.
This is the longest animatronic show in all of Walt Disney World, running about 60 minutes, including breaks for Sonny and the Angels to perform their original songs including "Yew Nork, Yew Nork," "Space Angels," "Planetary Boogie," and some others, including new songs to this performance. Each show is incredibly unique as the special guests range from Disney characters such as Mickey, Stitch, Mr. Incredible, Buzz Lightyear, etc. As well as original characters such as the Timekeeper, L.C. Clench, and Mr. Tom Morrow.
Guests may also be called on stage to be interviewed by Sonny himself, and may even receive a special gift from the zorkian talk show host. Prizes include extra fastpasses, a Disney gift card, or special viewing for the fireworks. Mix all of the riveting interviews, the spontaneity and improvisation of the show, the classic and original songs, and all of the best puns Sonny Eclipse can come up with, this animatronic show will both be original, fun, exciting, and will become a destination when arriving in Tomorrowland. Throwbacks to ExtraTERRORestrial and Stitch include jokes made by Sonny as well as pictures of Sonny shaking his hands with the Grand Councilwoman after signing the lease of the theater.
Definitely make sure to check out a live taping of the Tomorrow Show starring Sonny Eclipse this side of planet Earth and stop by and see your favorite zorkian.
