Yikes. I understand price increases...but 20 dollars more for an AP again. I believe that is a $50 dollar increase in the AP price over the last 3 years.

Since the 2012 Dining Plans have been (unofficially) published, the fact that they're releasing new ticket prices in early June makes me think they'll be releasing 2012 hotel and package rates soon too.

With the demand on 180-day dining reservations, and the fact that they release park hours 6 months out, it only makes sense that they start allowing January bookings in June or July.

Regardless, this is an obscene hike. With a bold move like this, I have a bad feeling that we'll see a hike on the Dining Plans too, even with the removal of a snack from the QS plan.

The travel industry may be recovering...but that doesn't mean everyone can afford these kinds of increases.

The economy is still in the trash, if you pay attention to what is going on....these aren't small inflation increases, these are major price hikes.

I can't even believe that they hit people with these two days before they go into effect, and with the parks showing big profits already with some serious problems to fix.

Fear not, however. They will probably just continue to heavily discount, completely invalidating the prices yet again.

Very classy Disney, very classy indeed.

Looks like they dropped the price of the Park Hopper option for 1-day passes ($54 to $35). For 2+ day passes it's going up a buck from $54 to $55.

$20 increase for passholders I hope the start showing improvement to justify this increase. And I hope they don't increase them again in August.

$20 increase for AP is disappointing to me. I would like to see more improvements along with better discounts for resorts and at the parks. I too wonder if we will see another maybe smaller increase in August. Has that ever happened before?

They'll keep raising the prices as long as there are enough people who are willing to pay them. And why worry about fixing broken effects or building new, innovative, and cutting edge attractions when they can basically set whatever price they want to and people are still willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money for the experience as is? As in all business, if/when the bottom line suffers, they'll hold or lower the cost, but not until they are forced to do so.

We wanted very much to go this summer, but after looking at the costs, decided it was not in the cards for us financially. We plan to do a Disney trip next summer, but not WDW. We are going to DL instead. The shorter trip (only 2 parks vs. 4) and the pristine, beautifully maintained DL park combined with the improvements to DCA and the addition of Carsland, WOC, etc. has drawn us out to SoCal instead. And I'd like to add, unless there is a significant resort discount offer available at the time, we'll definitely be staying offsite. I absolutely refuse to pay more than $200 a night for any hotel room. I just will not do it. So if the resort price doesn't come down into an acceptable range through a discount, we'll quite happily give our money to someone other than Disney for our hotel room.

And to think I was just starting to miss Walt Disney World and contemplating a trip that would include those parks. Not so much any more.

Yeah, I'm surprised at that as well. Only because $500 is a psychological barrier. Is that $20 worth the people that may not renew because of it? Apparently they think so (and just may be right).

Then again, an AP can still be a bargain if you are going more than once in a year, even if it's not for that many days each time. 4 day park hopper is $300 - so if you go twice and only stay for four days each time you are still up.

I'd expect the opposite. Apparently they have been telling CM's in team meetings that the AP discounts are going to be reduced, not enhanced. I'm surprised that they even have merch discounts now - they didn't back when I was originally an AP holder in the 00's.

$10 for the FL AP is not awful, but annoying. In my case the big loser is Universal as with their huge prince increase earlier this year and this, they stand no shot of getting me to renew my AP or go back in the next few years.

Universal hasn't announced any ticket prices increases yet. I'm intrigued to see if they do follow suit this time due to, as you pointed out, their Potter-fueled increase midseason. They could gain some great press if they publicize that they won't increase their prices...

I'm flipping WDW off right now...wish they could see it. Another year, another increase...and this time 3 bucks more on a single day ticket? Are you kidding me? so basically it's more than $90 after taxes for ONE DAY at a park??? Insane. I have a vacation week in a little over a week and planned to spend three of the days at WDW, two at Universal, and one at Busch Gardens. Now I don't even know if I want to spend the money to go to Disney at all. Maybe I'll just save towards later this year when I go to California again. Good job TDO...once again my money is heading to the other coast since you keep ripping us off.:mad::mad:
