Tiana's Showboat Jubilee opens today

Wow, this actually seems like a pretty good show for once. And I do like the songs so far, first time in a long time that Disney has had a catchy song in a movie.

I like it! Snappy, colorful, exciting... looks to be a nice addition to the entertainment offerings at the MK.

Is it me, or does this show seem to drag on about three or four more minutes than it should? It's apparently the boat sitting there with the same performers doing musical number after musical number after musical number after musical number. I lost interest after about the third musical number.

Seems like they should cut out about three minutes of this thing and tighten it up a bit. Maybe it doesn't drag as much in person?

However, I am looking forward to seeing it live in a couple of weeks.

So far it looks nice. As I said before, as long as it makes it run, and then bows out as scheduled, I am happy with it being there.

I love the riverboat show concept. We should have done this a long time ago. The pyro and the waving sheets completely surprised me. This show turned out amazing, and I can't wait to see it in person on my birthday next tuesday!

Actually, Jubilee is from Beverly Hills, California. And I was just making a joke due to the name of the show.
But, yes - Gambit was born and raised in New Orleans, you are correct.

The show looks fantastic! Hope they keep it around long enough for me to see it live!

Disney Parks announced on Twitter today that Tiana's Showboat Jubilee will run through January 3, 2010!

I'm bummed I won't get to see it live!

For anyone asking about the character meet n greets-Tiana and Naveen will be out but Louis and Dr Facilier are on the boat only. I heard that if there is enough guest demand and if the movie does well they might put other characters out. So stopping at Guest Relations and asking for the other characters wouldn't hurt.

It looks like a great show, and a good choice for the venue as well. Totally ties in with the movie, and offers a little sprucing up of the riverboat, albeit for a few hours each day.....

Once the permanent M&G happens(I have no doubt in my mind it will), I hope it's hidden or themed well to LS, because I'd hate for it to be obtrusive on the already wonderful theming of LS.

Yes. The times guide has the riverboat listed as 'Intermittenly' between certian hours.

Looks pretty good from what I can see. Like some I guess, I'm avoiding some spoilers and stuff :lolnot watching the whole thing; turning the sound off in places; just catching the elements of the show), as I'd like to see the film first.
Doesn't look 'too much' as in, not over-the-top set dressing. The cast look very good, and the bits of the songs I caught were catchy or interesting.
Can't wait. Hope to catch this (probably will miss it).

I don't know why they do not just continue this till February 16 (Mardi Gras). The current end date is three days before the Carnival season begins and they are cutting the show.

It seems like a waste. Just imagine how many happy vacationing Louisianans would populate the Magic Kingdom Mardi Gras week.
