I very much doubt the inability to join the virtual queue of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is going to push people to make such an expensive purchase, but then I’m generally not fond of conspiracy theories to begin with.
I cant speak for conspiracy theories, but families spending big bucks for maybe a once every 3 years trip to WDW faced with the possibility of what you showed in your screen shot may say, "what the heck" and go for it as they are there and did want to get on Tiana.

If the attraction is that important to them, they have two shots each day at the virtual queue. According to the data shared in the relevant thread here, the drops have often been lasting many minutes, sometimes well over an hour, so it’s not like these hypothetical families you’re describing have only seconds to secure their place.

Well, there is excitement to see if they win the lottery even if their return time may be 6 hours away and it is exciting to wonder and hope if Tiana is up for their return time.

Its all part of the experience.

These things are rarely like the early Rise of the Resistance days anymore. If you want a VQ pass, you will almost certainly get it unless you're there on an especially busy day, the only confounding factor being unexpected closures, which are a risk you take in the standby line as well.

Look on the bright side, if you cant get on the ride you want there is always food and merch. ;)

My YouTube premium ran out and refreshed YT less than five minutes ago. The very first ad I get is for Bayou Adventure. I think the Mouse is watching me

Leaving WDW today and man this ride is ridiculously unreliable. It was closed more than it was open this past week. How embarassing! Does anyone know why it is down so much? I read it has to do with sensors messing up the audio and everything getting out of sync. Is that true?

We all really enjoyed it! Does not have the same punch as Splash, but they certainly spent a lot of money. The shrinking element is a head scratcher. But overall, when it was operational, we enjoyed it.

Wow. I had thought they had worked out the issues. Too bad.

I think it’s the animatronics that are the cause for most of the breakdowns. Everytime I ride TBA there’s always something wrong with at least 1 of the animatronics. If a majority of them aren’t working I can see Disney closing the ride to fix them. Though this is speculation.

Keeping the VQ?

Well why not. It certainly would be embarrassing if their newest attraction has only a 10 minute standby line wait.

They also couldn't sell many LL if the artificial scarcity and FOMO generated by a VQ is crushed by a low wait time standby line.
Since it’s always breaking down I don’t see it ever having a 10 minute wait 😉

Interesting! I didn’t think there would be any left on the day.

I side with everyone that this is actually not a hard attraction to access. On party nights it was a walk on. Temp obviously was a factor.

I imagine they are just holding out until Christmas is over at this juncture. But because it’s easy to access, the opposite applies, no one who wants to go on this attraction is really being shut out.

I think they are afraid of opening standby because the attraction is simply not reliable enough.
They might have to fork out a few fast passes if it goes down with guests in line?
Times have changed if they dumped a queue I was in I just went on to the next thing with all the other dumpees now people expect something for it.
Consequence of making the per minute price to be there so high I guess

I thought we had gotten to a point that reliability wasn't the issue anymore, and the downtime shown on the VQ thread was mainly tied to rain events.
As one who tracks the VQ data, there's been a noticeable uptick in downtime over the past month or two. It's getting worse from a reliability perspective imo.

Just today it was closed from 10:30am - 4:28pm for an extended closure. That's abnormal and not per usual.
