FEA is a very apt comparison. Both rides are enjoyable but had rough openings and are objectively not as good as what they replaced.
The problem with TBA is that they are unable or unwilling to fix it at this point.

Unable because the problem can not be resolved without extended downtime.

Unwilling because shutting it down for a month or more would be a tremendous embarrassment.

Ironically I think more guests would be less critical of an unplanned refurbishment to get it working properly, than to have it breakdown for half the day on a constant basis.

But I guess that would bruise some pretty inflated egos at the company.

IIRC it took them a while to fix FEA too. Within a couple months they’ll fine tune it.

The way I see it, they have two options -

A. Shut down TBA less than a month after opening it to fix the bugs
B. Wait until winter (when they would usually refurbish Splash) to take it down and fix it then.

The issue becomes, do they admit their new ride can't function properly when the old one worked (admittedly less so at the end), or let it close multiple times a day for a good chunk of its debut season?

BTM is planned to be closing for an extended refurbishment imminently. TBA as a new ride was unlikely to close this winter. Without TBA you have an entire land without a major attraction and a severe hit to capacity.

They've painted themselves into a corner in terms of what they can do.

I completely forgot they're planning on closing Big Thunder. That'll be disasterous for Frontierland if Bayou can't operate for a full day and BTMRR is down.

7 hours of total downtime today. Just the latest continuing example of a day in which the ride was down just as much as it was up.

They can’t fix this thing and they can’t shut it down for an extended refurbishment so soon, so they’re just going to let it limp along and get progressively worse and downplay any vocal complaints about these problems.

This was so predictable. Shame on the shills who gaslighted anyone critical of this mess.

Congratulations Disney you built a mediocre attraction\
What a bad look and total fail for Disney

One would think a new ride would be reliable seems TBA is down more than it is up and running. Makes one wonder if Disney went with the lowest bidder and went cheap to save $$$$$ and this is the end result

Since yesterday makes a month Bayou has been open, had it gone a single day without either an evacuation or extended stops? Seems like every day it had some problems
I only have one day marked as no unusual stoppages (>15 mins), July 7.

However there are some days like July 26 when there was a slight stoppage of like ~20 mins. Not necessarily a breakdown, could just be a short pause due to an influx of guests in the queue.

But it is indeed rare to have a day without some type of interruption to operations (breakdown, late opening, early close, etc.)
Final Day 16 Stats (7/7):
7am: 1.4 secs
1pm: 2773.4 secs, or ~46 mins

BG 155 (+20) is the last BG called for the day at 9pm.

Notable stoppages: None

Average pace: 5mins/BG

VQ Drop Mean/Average:
7am: 9m -> 6m (-3m)
1pm: 1.7s -> 15m (+15m)

That does it for Day 16 of Tiana's Bayou Adventure!

Final Day 35 Stats (7/26):
7am: 1.7 secs
1pm: 1114.3 secs, or ~18 mins

BG 160 (+75) is the last BG called for the day at 9pm.

Notable stoppages:
10:42 - 11:01am

Average pace: 5mins/BG

VQ Drop Mean/Average:
7am: 5m -> 4m (-1m)
1pm: 7m -> 9m (+2m)

That does it for Day 35 of Tiana's Bayou Adventure!

It appears that based on the above graph between 4PM and 6PM on 7/29, the earth opened up and swallowed TBA only to minutes later spit it back out.

Nope. They were calling negative groups, meaning, those who rode it had to come back and ride it going backwards.

The AAs demanded it as tribute in order to start working again.

So by negative groups, you mean if @Sirwalterraleigh and @HauntedPirate and myself were there together, we could have gotten right on the ride?
