I think the Kids who want Tiana merchandise would still want Tiana merchandise even if this retheme wasn't happening. You don't think kids will enjoy it and want the associated merchandise?

Sure, but that doesn't mean the retheme won't be really big with children and increase demand for Tiana merch. Look at how popular Frozen Ever After remains.I think the Kids who want Tiana merchandise would still want Tiana merchandise even if this retheme wasn't happening.
Yes but this will create more impulse purchases. A kid is more likely to want a Tiana plush after getting off a Tiana ride than just passing by one at the Emporium.I think the Kids who want Tiana merchandise would still want Tiana merchandise even if this retheme wasn't happening.
It's gone....
I think I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; whether or not the retheme is an upgrade or a downgrade, it will attract the same amount of people simply because it’s the water ride of the park.
They want you to focus on other things with this whole project,,,,,,, not the ride itself. To me the most telling thing about the intent is where your eye immediately goes with both versions. For the new version, they don't seem to want guests to focus on the mountain and the drop. Maybe not quite as explicitly as in this concept art, but something along these lines!

As for the disjuncture, it makes sense if the sensation is now supposed to be more joyous exhilaration than thrill. For example, if the final lift hill is a colourful, musical journey during which Mama Odie tells you "The secret ingredient is... turmeric! Now, off to the party!" before you go over the drop, it makes sense she's sending you down a pretty waterfall rather than some kind of perilous plunge.
??? I wish everyone on here would stop speaking in code. What does this post even mean? They want you to focus on other things with this whole project,,,,,,, not the ride itself.

He's not involved.Did anyone here attend the GKTW events this weekend where Tony Baxter spoke? Did his remarks at all give us an update on this attraction or his role with it?
"Earnestness" my foot. This retheme is all about looking good in the public eye.I would agree that they are emphasising more than anything the earnestness of their intentions with this redo
Tony left early in the project I believe. Word is his plans for Tiana conflicted with what Disney wanted so he leftDid anyone here attend the GKTW events this weekend where Tony Baxter spoke? Did his remarks at all give us an update on this attraction or his role with it?
I’d love to have seen him in the room when they were workshopping the salt mine and co-op ideas.Tony left early in the project I believe. Word is his plans for Tiana conflicted with what Disney wanted so he left
You made this claim before in the other thread a while ago, but then went on to say you weren't being serious. Are you being serious this time? Did someone actually ask him? He's not involved.
I can’t speak for this poster, but it was pretty common knowledge from the start of this project that he was going to be very lightly involved. Most people thought it was a PR move to save face with diehard parks fansYou made this claim before in the other thread a while ago, but then went on to say you weren't being serious. All I know is he’s not been seen in any of the promotional trips or videos shown, nor has he made any public comments about it in the last year or so.I can’t speak for this poster, but it was pretty common knowledge from the start of this project that he was going to be very lightly involved. There's a few here who have the same source as me, but the original person does not want me to say anything. You made this claim before in the other thread a while ago, but then went on to say you weren't being serious. Are you being serious this time? Did someone actually ask him?
I've stated before that i'm not going by Disney's PR claims. I was told by an independent source (someone who is the farthest thing from a Disney shill as you can imagine) that Tony has (or had) a hand in this project. Whether he's still actively involved currently I don't know. But no bad blood was mentioned, it sounded like he and the team got along well and that they're using his ideas.I can’t speak for this poster, but it was pretty common knowledge from the start of this project that he was going to be very lightly involved. In that case, i've heard what seems to be the opposite of what you claim. There's a few here who have the same source as me, but the original person does not want me to say anything.
It's more than mere words, sir. I will leave it at thatIn that case, i've heard what seems to be the opposite of what you claim.
