This has already been addressed. There are around 17 named characters, not 17 animatronics.

Exactly. Disney has publicly stated dozens. Dozens means a number divisible by 12.

At minimum that would be 24, but I do not believe they’d say “dozens” for two dozen.

So I am thinking we are in the ballpark of at least 36 animatronics, minimum.

They all went on a couple of times, but the first-ever test ride was at 4:07 pm, and the last one for the day was at 4:54 pm.

I didn't post the link to this one here but I got multiple videos each time they came down the drop!
