I love Everest but Rise and Flight of Passage are more recent and just as good to me
FOP is the best ride experience in WDW today in my opinion.

My comment was to the quality, is the details, queue, backstory of Everest. Going forward I don’t think WDW will take the thought, care and money to create something as rich in detail as Everest.

I also love the Everest ride experience.

In terms of queues I think AK has some of the best in the park: Dinosaur, Everest, Kali Rapids, Flight of Passage.

Do you think the CMs working at Tiana's will be saying, "Another day at the salt mines."

Everest has the best, most authentic feeling backstory out of almost any of the rides throughout Disney. The entire area leading up to the ride is part of the backstory if you take the time to read the posters, etc.

The queue itself is phenomenal in it's "fake" authenticity.

Everest should be the textbook entry on how to create an interesting, customer involved backstory.

It’s a very different “reality” but the queue for Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway at DL gives me this feeling also, it feels like you’re stepping into Mickeys actor world and seeing all his real props. It’s beautifully done.

I think Imagineering still has the ability to give us immersive, it’s a matter of them being given the freedom to do it.

It makes me wonder, what IF the retheme turns out to be a Journey Into YOUR Imagination-esque disaster? I doubt it will be (even if it's lousy I'm sure lots of people will love it), but what if it IS?

Will Disney retheme it again? Tweak it to make it better? Just close it and leave it abandoned, risking the anger of the general public for closing their most oh-so-inclusive attraction ever constructed?

Rise is probably the most overhyped attraction at both parks and does not deserve the long lines it gets. Flight of Passage is cool but it's certainly no Everest or Tower of Terror.

Rise might be over hypes but I still really enjoy it and the different elements and have some great interacts with cast members - I would pick it over Everest is both had comfortable waits (but generally Everest would have much lower wait and be the better value)

FoP I find to be very transportive and immersive. Obviously very different than Everest or ToT as being screen bas d vs physical movement but I would put in similar tier of attraction.

I think the experience of FoP can compare - the queue is also very detailed and just in the transition from the more natural to the man made areas that nature it taking over, then the science lab with all the practical effects going on, really tells a story and tons of detail there - I think they are very similar levels

They will never admit to the mistake publicly.

Nope, they will hire the BEST Madison Avenue PR firm to spin it faster than 2 young kids with full stomachs on the tea cups…

If Journey Into YOUR Imagination had been a hybrid Dark/thrill ride, it would not have gotten as harshly judged... But it was a dark ride replacing a dark ride... Tiana's Food Co-op is a hybrid Dark/Thrill ride... which should make it easier to be loved. Will all this extraneous detail ever even be noticed or appreciated? Hard to say because we don't know how it will be used yet. Would a less overblown plotline and focus on the characters from the movie including Facilier have been better accepted and more universally loved? I tend to think so...

It genuinely feels like a square peg in a round hole. Not that Splash was anything thrilling in terms of story, but TBA feels like a glorified Fantasyland dark ride with no account for how Splash told its story with the ride track. I guess it fits next to Pooh in that regard, both of them are baby's first dark ride with the cynical intention of selling plush toys and fancy dresses.

They would probably try to tweek some stuff here and there within the constraints of what the current team already built. I don't think they'll retheme it away from Tiana for a long time.

to me, the more "Authentic details" they continue to push into it, seems to be moving it farther and farther from the charm of the original film and characters. if they are taking a 5th tier character and making a huge point about him having a scene in the ride (Naveen's brother)...they have gone too far...and appear to be mired in extraneous details.

Wouldn't they want to focus more on Tiana herself?

It's a log flume ride, and a good one at that, in central Florida. It will have big lines no matter the ip you plug in. So even if the Tiana part isn't all that well liked. It will still be considered a success. In my opinion Disney is counting on that. I just don't see this as a high likelihood people will reject it.

What I see happening is
"Man I wish they hadn't changed splash mountain. Oh well, it's 107deg and my face is starting to melt, let's get wet." :p

Say what you will about Pooh, but Pooh at least makes the effort to be spooky and add a bit of tension in the middle of the ride with the Heffalumps and Woozles sequence and the buildup to it. Heck, I'd argue it adds more tension than Peter Pan's Flight (which doesn't have much if any tension) or Mr. Toad (which was more "madcap fun" than spooky or tension-building... wasn't the same cheery "Merrily On Our Way" song playing in the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks finale)? And it actually makes the attempt to be whimsical and not just show off how inclusive Disney is. So to just brush it off as "baby's first dark ride" is kind of unfair.

Tiana's Food Co-Op Adventure is like... imagine if they rethemed Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to Sleeping Beauty or something. And the whole pre-show was Flora, Fauna and Merryweather talking about how Aurora started her own employee-owned fashion boutique and what a strong role model and inspiration to girls of all races she is. Can't a ride just be fun?
