It's incredible, actually. Better than anything in Disneyland's Fantasyland.

My family members just cam back from the World. They rated MMRR as their Top Two attraction after RotR. They said its just so much fun you want to ride it over and over.

Wow, maybe it’s one of those attractions that really don’t translate well on video. I hope it’s true and that they take it to next level at DLR but from what I’ve seen it looks mediocre. Then again I may just disagree with your family members taste in attractions because ROTR isn’t my favorite either and I have been on that one.

ROTR has no thrills and tries to to present itself as making guests part of the ride but you don't do anything throughout the experience. people call you a "recruit" and tell you where to go and where to stand and where to line up. on the ride itself the robots and the ride vehicles do all the work and in the end we get told "well done recruits" when we didn't do anything and have no baring on the outcome of ride at all. and we end up right where we started from. I believe Princess Leia was expecting us. Guess she really didn't need us afterall if we are just left on batuu.

We rode MMRR three times at DHS. It's definitely a lot more fun than it looks in the ride through videos. The wind effects really add to the experience. It has its problems, though. It's prone to pausing to let other vehicles catch up. One of the times we were on it, it just stopped in the middle of a sequence. I dunno if maybe they stopped it to allow disability loading. That kind of stuff really breaks up the momentum. I hope they figure out a better way to handle that.

I feel like we missed some cool stuff in the abbreviated covid queue. Overall, a very good ride in my opinion.

I, for one, am very frustrated by Disney's racist actions to cancel Uncle Remus. I guess having a likable African American protagonist was just too much in the 1940s and 2020s.

That’s my main problem with this whole thing. Magic Kingdom.

I can see why Tiana and PATF could use more Parks representation, and I can support that. But I think Disney decided to kill two birds with one stone and also retheme Splash.

At Disneyland, this would at least make sense thematically. The park doesn’t have a lot of space, and the attraction is right next to a pre-existing New Orleans area. I hate seeing Splash go, but I can see the reasoning.

At Magic Kingdom, however, Splash Mountain is in Frontierland. Princess and the Frog in Frontierland? Really? The IP belongs in Fantasyland, or maaaaybe Liberty Square if you made the “New Orleans square equivalent” argument. But Frontierland just doesn’t make sense to me at all. It feels like an excuse to retheme Splash, which is disappointing.
It’s completely idiotic, but it really is a two birds with one stone thing. It’s sad. As a hand me down, the ride will not live up to the lofty expectations of first attraction staring a black human character, and we’re also losing the best representation of the Brer Rabbit tales in the modern era.

It’s not so much the “cancelling of Uncle Remus” that’s the issue. It’s what they did to the legacy of the people that came up with the Brer Rabbit stories.

We talk about slavery a lot. And it’s important not to forget the horrible things that were done. But the stories and lessons of the victims of slavery, the Black Americans that persevered through suffering clearly don’t mean to anyone, especially not a mega conglomerate.

It’s sad. It’s gross. I’m not sugar coating it anymore, and I’ll keep saying it until something changes. Hopefully it does, with or without the ride (and music). Cause as long as the Brer Rabbit banishment continues, this “commitment to diversity” is the biggest sham I ever did see.

I haven’t been too impressed with what I’ve seen so far with MMRR either. Not saying that means I won’t enjoy the attraction, though so far I’m most interested in our version’s queue than the actual ride itself.
As a major fan of the Mouse, it looks like a disappointment. I’m sure it will be more enjoyable in person, but there are several observations that can be made about the creative aspect of the attraction, and it seems to be lacking.

Uncle Remus is unlikable for me both in the film and the texts, especially the texts. As a black person, I feel his character is nothing to be proud of.

I also believe it will be more enjoyable in person and will not fully judge until I ride. It really doesn’t look all bad. Like I said, the queue looks interesting. I like our version’s facade, too.

I don’t expect to be wowed by anything Disney produces for the parks anymore. The Tinkerbell hologram is a nice surprise, but I’m not expecting for this “new” PatF ride to be any good. Possibly decent, but not great. Highly doubt Disney will prove me wrong, but we’ll see.

I thought he was likable. I think most people thought he was very likable. That's the reason they gave him an honorary academy award. Of course, I can't play the "as a black person" race card. I'm just a dude who watched the movie.
