I've been hearing over in the Florida thread that what's likely is that when this Splash goes down for the winter like it usually does, that's when they'll silent-close it for the retheme, so get your final rides in. Florida's will most likely ride out the 50th

Space Mountain and Splash Mountain are both dumb names that we’ve all come to accept and love because the rides are terrific and we associate the good times with those names. If they’d been called “Rocket Flight” and “Chickapin Hill”, the names would seem just as natural and right. (Zip-a-Dee River Run,” however, was a terrible working title and “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” sounds like a typical modern Disney committee-chosen winner from the Department of Bland😃)

Space Mtn. gets points, however, for being such an odd, intriguing juxtaposition of nouns that it does jog the imagination. It shouldn’t work, but it carved out its place in the English language through sheer uniqueness.)

I took that as they installed character voices and sounds of maybe sewing machines going off behind that door to make it seem “real,” similar to the voices we hear on Main Street.
