Just thinking about this logically, doesn’t Dr Facilier have to be in there considering the nature of the drop and the length of that final lift hill? If not him it’ll have to be some other danger, evil, etc..

What else could possibly work going up that hill? Humor? No? The Louis plot line? No “Louis you re almost there keep reaching reach reach, OMG we re faallllllinnnng.” No

So there has to be some element of danger or conflict and I can’t see them inventing something new over the popular bad guy from the original film. I guess it could also be the “ghouls” that pulled him to the other side but even that is watered down non sense.

Lastly if we give credence to the Louis plot line (and I’m not sure I do) than we have to give the same amount of credence to Dr Facilier being in the ride as they were both mentioned by Jim Hill in the same conversation. He’s apparently going to be on the lift hill in shadow form where Brer Fox is now and they re going to put some sort of battle between him and a Mama Odie AA. Granted, I wouldn’t bet on any of it. Not necessarily because it’s Jim Hill but because it was so early on that I doubt they had any concrete plans. Even if he was spilling the beans on possible concepts from WDI

It sounds cringy... But what if Mama Ode does it? The tree is her house in the concept art. (Which... now that I mention it, even with the Loa/Facilier that is odd...why are they taking us up TO Ode... but anyway)

What if the plot is similar to the movie and guests are trying to find her home in the bayou for some reason or another. I could even see her and the flamingos singing the "Are you ready?" part in a less foreboding tone. Especially with modern Disney. I could elaborate on it as it's something I thought about a while back.

There's also the chance that this will just be a different thing entirely and won't follow Splash Mountain's plot structure. Which is very sad as it's layout is very "literal" in that regard.

I hope you lot keep up with these dumb "hypothesis's" of how this turns out. It's honestly the most entertaining part of these threads and actually got me to laugh a few times 😂

I never thought about it, but you are right. I could see the lift to the final drop being something to do with Mama Ode .

Oh God this doesn’t sound far fetched and I’m terrified.

Imagine they turn this into a Marvel style "laughing" experience.

Actually...
The entire ride becomes the Laughing Place. Before every drop the cast make a stupid mistake.
*Drop*
Laughter ensues. From the animatronics which have AI. "Hahahaha! Hey, why aren't our guests laughing?
Did you not see Louis lose his 🎺?
Uhh... guys?"

*Animatronic canned for not being gender neutral*

What is in worse condition, wdw or disneyland splash? The wdw version is in horrendous condition.
The Disneyland Laughing Place I haven't seen look decent since maybe 2011. Thats the last time I remember the jumping water, weasels popping out, and spinning boat working.
