Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Why not abandon the plan to have the attraction set after the film’s storyline? Would it be too great a loss to lose out on “Louis dropped his trumpet!! Help Tiana get to Mardi Gras!!”
Only issue is that too many fans ask for original stories even if using IP. So if you drop the whole after the movies story, then you're basically retelling the story from the movie, again something that most fans hate.

To me it just won't make sense storywise to have Dr Facilier on the attraction. As its suppose to take place after the events of the movie when he has already been dragged to the other side.

So unless they can explain why he is back from the other side it would be weird to anyone who watched the movie, at least in my opinion.

Seems like an easy explanation to me. He’s back from the other side… In shadow form. No explanation needed. Much easier to explain than the collectors fortress in Hollywoodland

Why is he back? Did the Voodoo spirits release him? Why would him being back be an issue to our protagonists? And that is just three off the top of my head.

That is why its not just an easy explanation, too many questions go along when just saying "He's back from the other side".

I think you re really overthinking this.

Wait for it ….. he escaped!

Ok, so he escaped. But why would that be an issue for our protagonists especially if he is in shadow form?

If you think its a good story to tell, cool. I just don't see it as a good story, especially in this format.

Just for the record, how did you feel about the back story for the collectors
Fortress in Hollywoodland?

My point is they’ll write anything to make sense of something if they want to

He has a brother. Also villainous. Also voiced by Keith David. Slightly different color wardrobe.

^^ Better idea than Louis loses his trumpet.
Now I can get behind that idea, much better than saying "Dr Facilier escapes".

Now what if Louis' trumpet is enchanted by Facilier's brother.... That would be a way to tie in both.

Still backwards though right? Coming up with something like this to work around your own dumb idea for a plot line. If they want stuff from the original movie then don’t base it off events “after the film.”

Never had an issue with it because its very "comic booky" to have a "space fortress" plopping down in the middle of a city. So it fits the overall Marvel aspect of the story they were telling.

To me it would be much lazier of a story to have Dr Facilier escape, then it would be to have a story about Louis' trumpet. But again that is just my opinion.

Your honor. I rest my case.

I have no doubt they can accomplish this in two years. This is essentially a swapping out of sets / AAs, and restructuring the mountain, then new show programming.
Honestly, in terms of DL. I actually believe they can "get away" with using the HDYD scene unchanged and just swapping out AAS. The only issue would be how to address and or gut the Caverns and Burrow's. But that would relate to whatever story they are going with.

I just want to know a plot for this thing honestly.

We're at the point where we're expecting them to cut corners it's pretty sad actually.

Also, I’m really hoping they rethink excluding Dr. Facilier from the ride. If Tony is indeed involved, maybe he can explain to “story!”-obsessed modern imagineering that conflict is actually a key component of storytelling.

And it would get Keith David into the park, which might just make the whole overlay worthwhile.
Wait, where was it said that Dr. Facillier won't be in the ride?
