You probably wouldn't like it if you did.

1. I have never seen the film Symbiosis.

2. If you think that I'm an anti-change fanatic, you don't know what you are talking about.

3. Soarin' is my favorite attraction at Epcot that is currently there.

So yeah I am missing something somewhere :veryconfu

Please fill me in here. I'm what the French call, lost.
I said it once and I will say it many times again......

Walt died a long time ago.....

Walt never had to go through the cultural revolution and recessions in the 70's

He never had to go through the greed of the 80's, with corporate raiders, and the worship of the dollar.

He never had to go through the PC movement of the 90's, or the fact that innovation suddenly had a very short lifespan.

He never experienced the global marketplace of the 21st century, nor the major turn away from movies.

Walt has been dead a long time, his views are no longer relevant, as society has changed so much since he was alive......it does not matter what he would approve of....it only matters what the majority of consumers approve of.

He would hate the CM's walking in the open to their roles, even lugging supplies in AK. I can't tell you how many times I've seen CM's pulling carts of ice, drinks, etc through the park. Very un-Walt.
I'll agree that this is not necessarily the most "magical" looking thing, but sometimes it's kinda hard not to.

I worked in ODF at MK for a summer and there is NO way we could have gotten those carts of drinks and ice through some of the doors in order to stay hidden. It just would not have been possible. I will admit, that I think that cast members should ALWAYS stay out of lands they are not dressed appropriately for when just walking to and fro. But when pushing those big ______ carts full of drinks and ice from main street all the way to Frontierland, you have no choice but to be out in the open.

And I'm right with you. I agree with everything said here.

LOL

I didn't expect you to do that, but it's funny nonetheless. I'm not worthy to be in a speck76 signature :)

I agree with Speck on many of the things he said, except just not in FULL agreement with saying that Walt's views are no longer relevant.

I believe some of them are or NONE of the originality of ANY of the parks would still be around. So in some respects, his views do still matter. Otherwise, well said.

Errr.... a matter of fact...Walt WAS a cash , to put it bluntly... He loved the money tnen... he would have now!!!

Thanks!:D

Walt Disney used money as a tool to bring his dreams into reality. So of course he loved the money then because it meant greenlighting all kinds of ambitious projects.

Talking about taking things out of context!

Most (if not all) of my posts have been in regards of NOT speculating what Walt would do. If you think otherwise, then you didn't fully read my posts.

Why the nick change? :veryconfu

Hey, I was just having some fun! Maybe I should have used a few more  or  or :D !

As for the name change, I first chose a name on the fly back in '03 when I needed an answer regarding an upcoming trip to WDW. Now that I've rediscovered this happy little place (and boy do I now spend a lot of time around here!), I've been wanting a more Disney-themed name. Finally, after many requests, I got it.

Actually, he probably enjoyed putting the money towards his model trains more.

Walt wouldn't approved of:

The decline of guest service by Cast Members
The decline of respect for the parks
The lack of theming at merchandise locations (each store now preactically sells the same stuff)

Commercial and economic behaviours change but values don't have to. Are you saying the values that Walt instilled into his projects, his workforce and his beliefs in 'quality will out' are no longer relevant.

I say not.

Walt's legacy does live on, and people do right to ask; WWWD?

Gosh, a great percentage of the US is religous fanatical, its like them saying Jesus wouldn't have done this, so we won't. Oh but they do do that! So lets think about this with TWDC, the founder of our company once said..... and allow him to go on inspiring us and the company.

Did we not learn anything from the 100 years of magic celebration and The Happiest Homecoming on Earth. Take examples from those that met Walt, even those alive today, recount their experiences of Walt and use this to make them accomplish new projects and challenges with the company, even bringing them out of retirement.

Listen to Walt during Remember: Dreams Come True (It helps if you are there in townsquare), if you don't goosebump when he 'dedicates' you're missing 'a' Disney gene. Somewhere, kindof.

It's fair to say trade and commercialism has changed, but how you approach this and what with doesn't always have to. Creativity, Imagination, innovation, belief in what you do and a good heart a costless items on the balance sheet, but priceless to the end product.

Snow White on DVD for her 70th Diamond Edition!!!! 2007!!!!
It's GOTTA HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!

JUNGLE BOOK FOR IT'S 40th!!! 2007!!!! That's GOTTA HAPPEN TOO!!!!!!!!!

Have a Disney Day!

The values, desires, tastes, and beliefs of the comsumers have changed more rapidly than anytime ever in mordern history.....this has been brought about by more rapid changes in technology, the fact that we have become creatures of excess, and a major change in the wealth of the middle class......

Hard work in never irrelevant, neither is creativity......but the hard work and creativity of Walt's day would not cut it today....

Go bakc and look at those old films.......they are only popular today because of the warm memories the older generations have attached to them from their childhood......but if Dumbo was released today for its premiere, it would not compare to even the worst WDFA films over the last 10 years.....

People would complain "the animation is bad.....looks cheap......it's only 66 minutes long......"
