The kids have to be tech free and so do I family rules! Family vacation is for us to be together and have fun!I do not believe it!

Wow...now that I can relate to. Kids being tech free, at least for a little while is a good thing. We have nieces and nephews that visit with us and seem to be glued to their stupid phones. Note I did not say smart phones.
Anyway, when they are with us we make them do things without the phone. We go to zoos, parks, mountains, lakes...places that don't require phones.
They complain about not being able to text their friends.
"But I just saw a bear right there in front of me...I have to text Heather."
"No you don't...you can tell her about it when you get home."
"But Uncle Ricky"
"No buts...put away the phone."
Guess I would be a horrible parent.

I'll be too busy catching up at the world! It will have been about 2 years since my last visit and our first SWW in 5 years so we will be very busy!No the part about you staying wdwmagic free
Back on topic to the original post, we rarely do the DDP either. My wife can never eat that much food and we don't like planning the trip around ADRs. I don't think it is the value it used to be with gratuities included. We do travel at slower times and, believe it or not, we have actually gotten walk ups at LeCellier, T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe, Wolfgang Puck, Cali Grill and others and same day ressies at Boma.That's a debate that gives me a headache

Star Wars Weekends! My boys including my dh spend an entire day autographs shows parades etc! My youngest even goes in costume!
