The Walt Disney Company brands, franchises, and offerings survey, including The Simpsons

Paywall it! I don't want The Simpsons encroaching on my park experiences.
Honestly….
Disney is pushing Simpsons everywhere, there is a bunch of potential for merchandising and food and beverages money in the property (lard lad, duff beer, krusty burger), and the high Disney+ numbers, in my opinion, make your peace with Simpsons in the Disney parks now rather than later…
💯 this is a “survey” designed to aide in the negotiations.

My guess is they give up the IP in totality for Marvel rights in WDW.
The marvel contract is infinite. The Simpsons contract runs out in 2028. Disney doesn’t have to do anything really. Universal is likely closing Simpsons regardless for Pokémon. This is not another “Disney VS Universal rights war” that so many here fantasize about.

Disney asks a lot of questions, as they should be doing, so I don't think this is newsworthy.

Unfortunately the Simpsons have been culturally irrelevant for at least 15 years. I read somewhere that described the Simpsons as now "chasing pop culture" instead of "creating pop culture."
It almost certainly the most watched series on Disney+, and likely nothing else comes close. Plus it was a Bob acquisition.

I'd much rather FUTURAMA in the parks. The Simpsons brand is tired and been done already. Plus it feels distinctly off-brand. I'm sure others feel the same about FUTURAMA but it still ticks more boxes for park integration even though it too is "un-Disney" ...

Both properties poke fun at Mickey & Co. but with FUTURAMA there wouldn't be any would-be Universal vs Disney comparisons. Plus it would actually fit some of the current lands vs trying to shoehorn in The Simpsons brand that I feel carries too much baggage. FUTURAMA is more malleable. Less square-peg-round-holling!

I love futurama. IMO they are what star tours should become at Disneyland. Makes too much sense.

And as for the whole “tired ip” brand thing, while I don’t think it’s AS much as you say, but you may have a point in some small way. However, we are the site that has constantly clamored for more rides for the muppets (I say this as a huge muppet fan myself), so I don’t think we all have room to talk on this issue.

Isn’t the whole point of popplers and slurm in the show is that how they are made is very gross and you don’t wanna eat/drink them because of that?

But just think how many Furries you'd be able to attract!

It has a high aggregate minutes watched number solely because of the sheer number of episodes available. That doesn’t mean that it has the most eyeballs.

Bluey is the most watched show in D+ and it’s not even close.

Disney is sending Guests a company-wide survey about their brands, franchises, and offerings, including The Simpsons.

The answers include “Character meet & greets at the Disney theme parks” and “New lands or attractions at the Disney theme parks.”

Since this is a new survey, I figured it was worth mentioning.

If they HAVE to use Simpsons, give us a meet and greet in DHS. That park has a long history of random meet and greets (Dinosaurs, Roger Rabbit, TMNT, etc) that can add popular franchises without affecting the integrity of the park too much and they are easy to rotate out.
