Get rid of that trash known as Animation Courtyard for this and I'll be thrilled. They can put in anything, they can put in ABC Soap Opera Land and I'd be thrilled that AC is going away with an objective upgrade

Of course since that's the natural home for any Simpsons land in WDW they'll go and tear down Tower of Terror or Liberty Square or something to protect their offices.

It's nuts to me that anyone wants Springfield anywhere. It is not fantastic, inspiring, alien, romantic, or idyllic in the slightest. It's literally supposed to be the opposite. I could deal with an attraction tucked away somewhere behind an unassuming facade (even if I still think it doesn't fit the brand), particularly if it's just a theater show and doesn't eat up significant space. However, a land would by its very nature have a cheapening effect on the look of any Disney park.

As someone who hates Zootopia, I'd still take that over Springfield any day.

Ok here is the plan troops:

WDI - We got this new kinda hot after being left out of the oven for 4 hours IP...
Bob Iger - You mean like the Muppets in 1990??
WDI - Ok less hot then that
Bob Iger - Still it is IP go on
WDI - Let's not do a ride but a really good 3D video to take over the magic eye
Bob Iger - Like Muppet Vision?
WDI - Sure
Bob Iger - Great and then in 10/20 years we can just bulldoze it and that worthless Figment too to put in some new IP.
WDI - You said it Bob. Then we go to phase two for the Simpsons like how the Muppets are taking over something old we have. Two choices:
- #1 - Krusty takes over the circus part of Fantasyland and we knock down Dumbo because his last movie crashed and burned
- #2 - Moe always liked to pour a cold brew so we make Expedition Everest into Moe's Trek to Find Ice. We can have a Homer statue replace the broken Yeti and write down the cost. We can also change Yak and Yeti into Moe's Tavern

Bob Iger - Book it and I will pick between #1 and #2 when I start my 3rd tenure as CEO

So you're disenchanted about any dystopia conflicting with your utopian purity ? Perhaps that's the missing link to capture a lot of today's audience... a healthy distain for idealized (of whatever persuasion) societies. Missing "the grit" and inherent contradictions present in real life.

It’s the Simpsons

People can have their guilty pleasures without the smoke screen that it’s somehow a “cerebral triumph”

Nobody needs a land

Please, somebody wake me up from this perpetual Disney nightmare…I’m begging anybody…and then I’ll need a bottle of whiskey.
I'm right there with you.

This is the thing…
People have fought with grit to achieve what is as close to utopia as possible, in regard to the human condition. That should be the general goal IMO.
Why throw it all out the window for all those who have no actual ideals these days…real life happens, but it’s also how you choose to face it.
To me anyway, Dystopian is just another way of saying “I give up.”.
