An adult sized Maggie for a meet and greet would be horrifying. But I'm sure that Disney has a lot of designers falling all over themselves to design new characters that don't exist for meet and greets...

The seasonal variations they could add to holiday parties alone, never mind opportunities for shows. Homer hosting a show for Hollywood Nights could be hilarious.

To whom?

The traditional upper middle class clientele that Disney had almost exclusively served for 20 years?

Or the $500,000+ annual ones that the management is now insisting is all they’ll tolerate moving forward?
To me it doesn't matter. The parks are dying a slow death with the way they are running things. They won't go bankrupt but they will most likely stop being the number 1 at some point

What long game? There doesn't seem to be any game plan from one quarter to the next
The long game is “more money” and trying to present themselves that they sell “ideas” and not a tangible product

It’s been 20+ years of that and they’re already way out over their skiis

So by having that “plan”…it looks like complete chaos. And it probably is in the wash

This is why having Studio guys and a board that looks down the parks hasn't worked. As bad as Eisner was at the end at least he liked the parks.
They don’t even have a studio guy…

The yutz in charge has a claim to fame of being a sitcom greenlight guy and letting espn run itself and blowing up huge…

I know…roll your eyes…I annoy with an accurate recount of history

Wasn't he a weatherman in his previous life?

You're gonna see The Simpsons slowly replace The Muppets as 'event characters' in the next decade. You're gonna see Homer at Jollywood Nights and on merch for the flower festival and stuff.

Anything in Animation Courtyard is an objective upgrade, but I'd rather see Alien or Planet of the Apes have a spot in DHS first versus reheating Universal's leftovers.

Star Tours gets a Planet of the Apes reskin? Please?

Why? It's IP that's irrelevant now. Do they not have recent IP they can use?

I wouldn't say Simpsons is irrelevant. They have a very distinct role in pop culture as it is today. This is a forum that's clamouring for a whole Muppets land to be built in DHS, aren't they, in the best possible light, just as relevant as The Simpsons?

My pitch is Moe's Tavern with a Homer M&G. Probably best case scenario, I'm not interested in seeing The Simpsons in a theme park scenario again.

Give me Futurama or give me death?

I was talking about your response with Alien and Planet of the Apes.

Oh! I think those are still relevant (I carry bias though!), but Disney is still actively investing in these franchises with plans for more films/shows. Definitely not brands that are 'weak'.
