The Universal Rumors thread

I don't buy the BMG/Wicked rumors either. They definitely wouldn't have gone through all this recent trouble if it was getting ready to pack up. It also makes no sense to use that space when FFL is sitting there. If/when BMG bounces they could bring in a new act for the space.

The Project 007 thing made me chuckle. While it'd likely never happen, I've always thought they should do a Bond stunt show. It'd make sense in FFL since that'll be next to London. :p But anyways, I'm quite excited to see the transformation of Monsters Cafe! So much is happening now… it's crazy.

Bond was part of MGM/UA... and we know who got the rights to that. Disney would have had to pay extra to use Bond in the parks though.

It's not the FFL building. Project 007 is building 43, which is the Monsters restaurant.

I know i was just thinking maybe it was a hint for elsewhere in the park... which I know seems kinda dumb in hindsight.

Is the thought that a ride will go where FFL is/was? I thought that space would always be a show type attraction and they'll ned somewhere for Bill and Ted right?

MGM right? The company that wanted to get out of the Disney deal so badly ... I guess after going through bankruptcy they would be willing for anyone to buy the theme park rights to Bond? But with it being MGM's biggest money earner and seen as its bigger than even Potter - wouldn't they be likely to be even more protective than both JC and JKR combined?

Miceage is still insisting on Wicked, though they now say BMG will not be going. New in park entertainment, I guess? Their update today has good pics of Transformers construction too.

What stages are there in USF, FFL and the Animal one right? Maybe a temporary location or maybe even a replacement for Shrek gut it out and build a stage show in that building?

Personally, I'd put it in the TL theater at IoA. That way each park would have something new next year.

Personally, I think that someone is feeding him BS. which is why I never updated the list with it.

He feeds himself BS in a way. Based on what I've seen, he'll post anything he hears or gets his hands on, and the quality of his info (and often the way he presents it) is consistently lacking. Miceage is such a west coast-centric site that it goes unchecked. I wouldn't go there for news on any of the east coast parks.

I'm not sure that Shrek is large enough for that sort of thing. I'd like to see the FFL theater get remodeled, and possibly enclosed, regardless of what they end up using it for. It could use an upgrade.

This rumor popped up for FFL years ago, but seemed to be largely discounted. In a nutshell, it would've been like a 45-minute "highlight reel" they already used in the Tokyo park (sketchy memory here). Seems to come back up almost as much as a Villain Kingdom.
