The Universal Rumors thread

N.E.S.T. is the military branch shown in the Transformers movies, so this shop/restaurant will be TF themed.
Oh Awesome. I Hope that goes through. I've been battling people on other forums about the idea, I guess Universal is on the same thought path as me. I wish we had that much freedom in RCT 3 lol. But thank you

Miceage is reporting that Wicked might replace Blue Man Group. Not sure how well a 30min version of that show would play, espcially on the east coast, unless it's included with park admission.

That would be a great addition. I know that the show plays at Universal Studios Japan and it would surely be a success here.

I would think the full version of Wicked would be able to play rather well at Universal Orlando Resort. The show still has widespread popularity that is keeping the tour going and the Resort has enough tourists that you're not trying to pull from the same audience for months.

Full version? Probably. 30min highlight reel, not so much.
I'm a huge fan of musicals and I still haven't been able to see Wicked, I would love to see a shortened 30 minute version, so long as it's included in park admission or extremely cheap. I would rather it be short so I can spend more time in the parks. If I'm at Universal, I'd rather spend more time on rides than seeing a full Broadway show which I can do in my local city.

I'm having a hard time believing the BMG closing rumor. They just overhauled the entire show and building, and I had heard that they were doing well enough in attendance. Shows don't spend a bunch of money like that when they know their closing is imminent. Plus, my cynical side doubts that Universal would willingly make that building part of the park again, when they can just as well use it to receive extra profit from an outside show such as BMG.

Does anyone really want to see a cliffs notes version of a Broadway show that badly? Even if they did, there's already a theater INSIDE the park badly in need of a new show.

Oh, and someone please burn those tacky booths. They make the park look like North I-Drive. See how badly they want extra profit?

Maybe it could replace Fear Factor Live?

The project code name for this new one (assume it is the monsters cafe location?) is 007, which is interesting in itself.

Didn't somebody drop a hint on what Wouk replace FFL? Something about LOTS of action?

As much as I'd like to see BMG replaced hitch I have vocalised before I can't see it happening unless its for another big Vegas style show.

I think it'd have to be Vegas style not broadway style too....
