How did everyone's first day go if they are using Jeff Galloway's training program?

I think I did ok. I went just a little under 3 miles in the 30 minute run. I adjusted runkeeper so I won't track warm ups and cool downs any more so I can be a little more accurate in how far I go and my average pace. This was my first time out in a while and I stumbled and fell since I've never done city running before so I learned a valuable lesson. Next time I'll just run on the bike path that goes down the east river.

Those honey stingers are legit!

It is looking promising for the entire family to be signing up for the Tower of Terror 5K on Saturday morning. Anybody else doing that early run?
I wish I could, but the plane doesnt land till around 2:30.

Yes, Honey Stingers are the only packets I can consume in the wee hours of the day on a long run and not gag. They are soooo good. I use the honey stinger chews too. I alternated between those and the honey last full. It worked perfect. I sampled the "waffer" thing they had out at one time and it was really greasy for my taste. I didnt like it, nor my stomach.

I'm tentatively going to be at WDW that weekend, and if I am there, I'll be registered for the 5K! Not quite yet ready for the "big race" with you guys!! ;)

Even if I thought I could get ready for a 10-miler between now and end of September, it's sold out.

I did not start last week like the training guide said. Instead for the past 2 weeks I ran like 10-11 miles over the course of 15 days with my military buddies while I was on 2 training assignments. Each time out ran 2 miles, most of it on a track and 2 runs on a park trail. Memorial Day week did not run until Sunday, so I think the 10-11 miles made up for what I should have done the past week.

Sunday night went on a midnight run around the neighborhood block. For the past year and a half have been running around the local high school track but last night decided since I am training for a long-distance road race what better way then to run on sidewalks and abandoned city streets (I was well reflected and fully aware of whatever traffic there was).

Out and back is just about 2 miles, and the out and back is right next to one of the city's main drags, which is easily a mile from street light to street light.

I only ran for 30 minutes, just to get a feel. I listened to one of my mixes and knew when it hit 30 minutes, and I was surprised that I hit 3.25 miles at 30 minutes. Since February I have been running about 2 miles or 1.5 miles each outing, and for the past 2 weeks have been running to get my breathing and pace down.

I was quite impressed. I was amazed how far my body can run without feeling drained. Walked the rest of the way home and felt refreshed, not tired, not spent, and breathed normally. Clear skies, about 65 F with a slight wind.

Tuesday and Thursday will likely duplicate the 30-minute runs and Saturday or Sunday June 9-10 will increase it to 4 miles as per the guide.

Never ran further than an 8K. I've mainly run 5Ks, and with never running a 10-mile race before just guesstimated at my ToT time of around 1 hour, 40 minutes for the registration. After Sunday night's 30-minute run of a little over a 5K, I believe I can finish the 10-miler in about 90 minutes. Time and training will tell.

Look out Tower of Terror 10 miler. You might be a tower but not a terror. You are easily attainable.

Why are "runners" in quote? What are you trying to say there Joel? ;)
I would love to meet Sam. Is she going to be attending the after party?
 Because, I dont have to say, "You know, Nick from the Runners forum" or "You know Sam, Coryna, the girl from the runners forum that runs and does yoga, has inspired me to do the same" or lastly, "Oh, Sam, Doug from the runners forum is running the Mercedes too. Isnt that cool?". Now, it is, "Hold on Sam, I have to text Nick something about a man (inside joke)", "Im going to bust out some yoga tomorrow Coryna style" and "Hey, I heard Doug is ok with the head thing. That is good news!"

I promise, "runners" is a good quote to be in.

I think Joel is going to bring his bike and volunteer for the sweep squad to keep us Corral Q'ers in line.
 Ill bring a super soaker water gun... and if my bike catches you, Im hosing you down.

First post for me in the new forum style!

Having just returned from WDW and especially the Studios Park, I am more excited than ever about running this event at night in late September. While waiting for Fantasmic, we got run out of the park Sunday night by a lightning and thunder storm that had even locals saying this was the worst storm they'd experienced this year. So, I did get to RUN at the Studios! Some of my clothes are STILL wet from that.

Funny how running a Disney event changes your perspective. When we would go from one place to another, both in the park and out on the roads, I'm thinking "I've run through this section," and "That section isn't part of the course."

I do the same thing for any road course. I still pass parts of Birmingham or others places and say, "At that very place, I remember thinking (this)"

Ill never walk over the bridge going from the Boardwalk area to the Yacht club without thinking about the woman that (I assume due to a few reasons) had to have been running the second half relay part of the Inaugural W&D pull up on the other side of the bridge on the right and hurl about a gallon on Powerade. Right in front of me. So glad I was 2 seconds behind her and not next to her.

No need to ask.... IPA's, DIPA or TIPA. I know what my boy drinks!

He actually has a beer with my name on it waiting for me to come up and run with him. In true Nick style, run, then drink a beer.

I've got a DFH 120 with your name on it buddy.

And a few McKeller 1,000 IBU...that's right, 1,000 IBUs. It's the only brew that makes me have to sit for second and contemplate what just happened after I swallow. Insane stuff.
