The things CMs say....

Technically speaking, that's not true. There IS only one Belle, but there several people who can portray Belle.
I think they call themselves friends of______, you fill in the blank with the characters name. I was at a wedding one night and one of the bridesmaid's portrays Auroa and I asked her if she "portrayed" anyone else and I used that word. She QUICKLY pointed out to me that she portrayed no one but was Aurora's Friend...:lol:

You're absolutely correct. The answer to "How many ______'s are there?", or "How many people play _______?" is and always will be ONE. There is ONE Mickey Mouse, ONE Aurora, ONE Buzz Lightyear, etc. I can remember as a CM explaining to kids (and even adults) when they ask how characters can seemingly be in more than one place at the same time about the tunnels so they can zip around and "man, I'll tell you I wouldn't want 'their' schedule, it's just too hectic for me!" BTW, the way to ask any person you suspect is to ask them, "Are you friends with _______?"; they'll say yes or no. And finally, if you think you "know" a character while on-stage (face or otherwise) you can point to your eye (as in, "Do 'EYE' know you?"), and if the character either returns the gesture or nods, then you do.

While in Epcot I was headed over to a CM to ask a question when I older woman stepped right in front of me to ask her question and it went as follows;
Lady: Where can I see the fireworks the best tonight?
CM: (While scratching his chin) Oh Mam, that's easy, in the sky.
Me: I start laughing so hard:lol: I forget what I was going to ask and just walk away.
Lady: Thanks for nothing!! And she storms off..

One of the rare days when Pocahontas was out in Frontierland in Disneyland...she was the most beautiful character I ever saw, almost fake looking...well my sister was fascinated by her and asked her what color her lipstick was and she answered.."Well I crush up some berries and other things from the forest...."
My sister was trying so hard to get her to answer because she really did love her lipstick, but Pocahonats would NOT even budge! Great acting and so into her role!
Picture? :shrug:

Two of my favorite stories my fellow CM and I have concocted are:

1. A guest asked if the wire from the castle was where Tink flew during the fireworks. Without skipping a beat I replied, "That's Cinderella's DSL line. She LOVES shopping for shoes online these days. Its so much easier." And my friend chimed in, "And Prince Charming watches ESPN a lot too."

2. At one point Pooh went down and I was called over to help explain to guests it was closed for now. My friends and I explained to the kids that Pooh spilled hunny all over the tracks and we were trying to round up heffalumps to eat the hunny. We then spent 20 mins looking for heffalumps with kids.

Best CM experience as guest:

My friend and I met Woody and Jessie in Disneyland. I asked Woody for his autograph and then he proceeded to say act like I smelled and took my autograph book. Jessie and I ganged up on him and he finally got down on one knee to hand back my book. I laughed and said, "Better put a ring on it". Jessie literally fell to the ground laughing ( I could hear her) and then did the dance with me :)

I hear lots of things CMs say, but then again, I am a CM, so that makes a lot of sense. I'd post the crazy things guests say, but that's not appropriate for this site...

Not appropriate for this thread, but totally for the site. I would love for you to start a thread on it. :drevil:

A fellow Epcot CM coworker in my department said to me: "I love the Epcot New Years Eve party! It's the only time of year they add lasers to Illuminations!" :brick:
