The things CMs say....

A fellow Epcot CM coworker in my department said to me: "I love the Epcot New Years Eve party! It's the only time of year they add lasers to Illuminations!" :brick:
Can you blame him? The lasers need to be updated. You can barely see them in some conditions. :brick:

Once, Aladdin and Jasmine just greeted a guest in Adventureland and then there was no one left and they were kind of standing there so me and my younger cousins went under the ropes of the EMPTY queue to get to them as soon as possible. The CM with them yelled at us not to do that and to get in the EMPTY line. So we did. And when we got up to Aladdin and Jasmine she informed us they were going back to their palace. :dazzle:

Genie came out in a few seconds, but still I wanted to say some unmagical choice words to that CM. :drevil:

So you went under the ropes after you were told not to because they were leaving, and you got angry at the CM? riiiight

No, sounds like she's saying that the line was empty so instead of looping through a ton of S curves when no ones in line, they went under a rope towards the top of the curves but the CM made them go back to the beginning of the S curves. When they got to the top, the characters left. If that's what it was, that would urk me, too:shrug: It would be like going to a bank that's completely empty so you just walk over to the front of the line area and wait to be called but a teller tells you to go through the lines anyway just to get to the same spot a few seconds later and the bank announces it's closing.

The CM could have simply said Sorry guys. They're leaving in a sec. Instead of insisting they wind through an empty rope queue then say the characters are leaving.

No, it sounds like they went into a roped off queue. When the line is roped off, it's roped off, it's empty for a reason.

Exactly! As a CM that is one of my biggest pet peeves about guest. I love them, they make my days at times but seriously folks, ropes are not for climbing over, going under, swinging or leaning on. There are rules for a reason and that reason is mostly for safety.

At Character Connection when it used to be called that, folks would try to go through the exit and would get mad at us for telling them the line was over there. *pointing to the other side.* Also, fences are not for standing on in order to see illuminations especially on rainy days. I once saw children on the other side of the black low fence sitting on a tree x_x;

Our very first trip and we were such rookies we went to the Hoop-De-Doo and had no idea how to get back to SOG. We were at the bus stop, a bus driver saw our confusion invited us on his bus and took us right to the end of the SOG drive. Above & beyond IMHO!!!

There is always a “knock” against the bus driver cast members for being a source of disinformation, but over the years while we were sitting waiting for our bus to one of the water parks I have had several drivers pull up open the door and shout where are you going? After we answer they say I going near there hop on and take us to our destination. They did not have to do that, we always appreciate it and I thank them then and now.

Then I misunderstood the story. If that was the case, that the area was closed off, that's a different story. Although I would still think the CM wouldn't yell at them to go through the rope area and instead say they are leaving in a sec. Again, maybe I'm just completely missing the story lol That happens:p

This is the part that seems iffy. Why would the CM insist they go completely through the line if the line was closed? Again, I may just be missing something lol :hammer:

I was waiting in line to see the Princesses. There were about 75 little girls with their moms and dads, and then boom! Me! the only 24 year old in a line with them, and all alone at that.

When I got to the Princesses (Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella), I gave my camera to the photopass guy, and Aurora looks around, and asks me "are you all alone?" I said "Yes, I am" and she replied "you must be a very brave princess to explore alone." She then posed with me and told me to stand off to the side for a moment. After a few minutes the photpass guy told the people in line that the princesses were taking a royal break, and would return later. Aurora took my hand and led me away from the crowd. She gave me a tiara. She said "even a brave and daring princess should show the world she's proud to wear a crown." I was flattered, and amazed. Also, I got some angry looks from some moms who had been waiting and overheard the whole thing. I still have the tiara, which isn't plastic!

Best part: It wasn't my birthday, I was 24, and my parents were over in Liberty Square shopping. When I got to them, my mom was like: "where'd you get the tiara?" I couldn't stop giggling.:ROFLOL:

One time a CM said that Disney-MGM Studios opened in October 1st, 1989, when OBVIOUSLY it opened May 1st, 1989!

Our guide on the KttK tour told the group how PotC was the only ride in WDW originally built for FL that was later copied and built in Disneyland. I tried debating this claim but he was certain he was right so I gave up.

Correct information, just wrong ride!

Space Mountain was first built in WDW's Magic Kingdom in 1975 and then in DL in 1977.

When we were in WDW in the end of October my wife, DD and I were taking pics on front of POTC by the ship mast and a CM in pirate regalia approached and asked if he could take a shot of the three of us. We took him up on it and after that he asked if we were going on the ride, we replied "Of course it is one of our favorites" he asked our DD(7) what she liked and she told him "the dirty foot" (she loves the one pirate with the dirty foot that dangels off the bridge) He replied "follow me then please" we were treated to a guided tour by him which included our own private boat. I have to say kudos to Nathan and I hope Disney knows what a great employee they have. Things like this really do make memories that last a lifetime and I know our DD will remember that for many years to come.:sohappy:

When my brother was little we were eating at Cinderellas Royal Table for breakfast and a Jasmine CM told him not to get his "greasy bacon hands on her outfit" Me and my friend thought it was hysterical, my little brother not so much...

Really? The guide on KttK said that?! I am surprised.
