Trip Report The Summer Adventure Continues....Our Live Disneyland Report Begins!

The morning we leave for Disneyland has come. We have spent the last six days in Arizona visiting my brother-in-law and doing some site-seeing. We spent some time in Phoenix where we visited our first water park,

Just got back from the lobby looking for a fancy Disney toothbrush from the tooth fairy, but the store was closed. Timothy, the excellent cast member working the front desk said he had a Tinkerbell money sleeve which I was more than happy to have. Then as I was leaving, he asked if I could wait. He returned about thirty seconds later with a signed Tinkerbell photo and an I'm Celebrating pin for Brayden!!!! He was the second great CM we met at the front desk.

As I mentioned in this report, when we checked in, Patrick told us we were getting an upgrade to a premier view room. He was so great explaining everything. I love this place :D

Gosh, AGAIN?!?! Good juju follows you everywhere and it's not fair for the rest of us mortals. That CM was very nice, I love the sleeve and the photo. I want one.

We found ourselves in familiar territory in front of the Walt statue in front of the castle as we waited for Magical at 9:30. Its the same place I love to watch Wishes in WDW!

The DL castle is so much smaller, and really doesn't have the same involvement in the fireworks, but the four flyovers by Tinkerbell and the two by Dumbo are awesome!!! I think I still like Wishes more though.

The crowds on Main Street USA were huge!! If you haven't been to DL, its not as large an area in front of the castle as it is in WDW. Plus, Fantasmic was going on just a five minute walk away in Adventureland!!! And this was still the crowd!

After a few days, I believe I still like WDW more then DL. However, there are many attractions I prefer here in DL over their WDW comparisons (POTC, Pooh, Space Mtn just to name a few). And I love the dark rides that aren't in WDW (Pinocchio, Snow White, Mr Toads, Alice in Wonderland, and both in storybook land). I also love how Its a Small World begins outside. So much is similar, but they both really are unique places.

Planning on sleeping in tomorrow before a late breakfast with characters at Storytime in the Grand California Hotel. Our first time eating there, and Blue Bayou in POTC tomorrow for dinner!!! We had lunch at BB last summer. Another big day ahead of us.

It's a shame you couldn't catch the regular firework show, although I love Magical. Remember... Dreams Come True is the regular firework show, and it is the best show, ever. I don't think you'll ever be able to catch it, since Magical is the summer show. Guess you'll have to settle for YouTube haha.

I can't seem to get to a higher level on Buzz. I've tried and tried, and nothing.

I never expect WDW vets to prefer the DLR (I've seen it happen maybe several times, but that's it), just as I don't expect DLR vets to prefer WDW after visiting (again, I've seen it happen a few times). It's all about what you're used to and what you know. One almost always connects better with the resort they know best and the one they've known longer. It's perfectly normal. And it's not cheating, for Pete's sake! I hate it when people say that haha.

I know you're sleeping in but you definitely need to go to sleep. Goodnight!

The plan was to sleep in today, but we were all up before 8:30. Breakfast at 10:30 at Storytellers at the Grand California Hotel. Planning on going into California Adventure after that, then Disneyland this evening. We have dinner at Blue Bayou. If you haven't been to Disneyland, Blue Bayou overlooks the Pirates of the Caribbean just like San Angel Inn in Epcot.

Brayden was pretty excited with his surprise for Tinkerbell this morning!!!!!:p
