Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

Monday, con’t

A thunderstorm never materialized and the pools eventually reopened, but it was too late for us to head back. We showered and went to the bus stop, waiting only a little while for our ride.

Epcot’s 40th celebration has been over for awhile, but I appreciate this collage regardless.

Love these photo that look like postcards. Do you have to ask for those?

And the room is really interesting, how is the view?

Em had gotten us a boarding group for Guardians so that was our first destination.

“You’ll accompany me through the queue, right?” Em asked.

“Sure!” I replied. “Actually I am pondering riding it with you.”

Em looked at me wide-eyed. I knew immediately she was questioning my decision. I have only ridden GotG once (last summer) and didn’t feel great after.

However I had kept my eyes open the first time. I can usually quench ride queasiness by closing my eyes. That was my plan for today.

“The song will be September,” I said to Em with authority. “I’ll keep my eyes closed and sing along in my head. I’ll be fine.”

Em asked for a center row (less motion) and got in line ahead of me so that she would be first entering.

“You just want to sit on the left so you won’t look up and do that weird thing with your eyes in the ride photo,” I teased her.

What thing, you ask?

IMG_7692.jpeg

When our vehicle began to move Em kept murmuring, “Look straight ahead,” over and over to herself.

The music started immediately at the backwards launch. It was September, just as I’d said.

However contrary to my optimism I was not fine.

And Em did not look straight ahead. This will forever be known as her “seizure face.” (Her words, not mine.)

If only we’d had as much fun as the orange shirt girl behind us.

I'm sorry I gave you a laughing emoji, but that picture and your commentary about the girl in orange and the seizure face made me chuckle. Also sorry you didn't feel well on the ride at least you got a good song.

Em and I headed out the International Gateway.

The walk around Crescent Lake is one of our favorite things.

We were concerned we might get rained on but our fears were unfounded. No pop-up showers here tonight. (Was that your experience @Darstarr?)

No need to use the walkway. Cutting across the grass is perfectly acceptable. :cautious:

We popped into Beach Club to peruse the gift store. I’d forgotten the resort is under refurbishment.

Monday, con’t

Earlier we’d received a lovely invitation from @Darstarr to join her and her hubby for lunch here -

IMG_0671.jpeg

We had to decline as two Beaches & Cream meals on the same day would be Tu much!

(We’re trying to arrange a meet. Missing each other would be Tu bad!)

We wanted B as our server. He works the counter so we asked to be seated there.

IMG_0670.jpeg

He anticipated our order of cheeseburger (Em) and chicken sandwich (me).

When it was time for ice cream, he was prepared to bring Em a No Way José and a chocolate marshmallow sundae for me.

He guessed right for me.

IMG_0675.jpeg

But Em’s decision to pass on the No Way José surprised him.

She explained that she was too full tonight to tackle that bad boy.

She opted for a single scoop hot fudge sundae instead.

After dinner we returned to our pool condo (Em’s moniker for our room.) Enjoyed the firework-free HEA soundtrack for the second night in a row.

All caught up from the last couple of days! Glad you got some pool time in before they called it for lightening that ultimately never appeared. I guess it's better safe than sorry. I have only given GOTG one chance before and have thought maybe I should try it again but after hearing about your experience, I don't think I will! It's so fun visiting the resort gift shops and just soaking in the ambiance that they each offer the guest! Enjoy your day at DHS and hope you get to meet up with @Darstarr soon!

Woody’s comment when I told him I rode Guardians?

“Why did you think it would be different this time?”
