Trip Report The Story Comes ALIVE! *COMPLETED*

Hello again, my friends.

For nearly a decade it has been such a joy for me to write about 50 (yes, 50!) different trips that I have taken to WDW - including one that was virtual. ;)

The reason? You, the reader.

I don’t do trip reports for my own documentation. I have journals for that. I write because I love interacting with y’all. Your encouragement, humor, curiosity and even snark (*ahem* @amjt660) assure me that I am not alone in my crazy affection for Disney parks. A big thanks to each of you!

I am very fortunate to be a frequent visitor to WDW (despite what @Mr Ferret 88 believes, I do not live there!) and am entering a season of monthly visits. Trip reporting is time consuming (as those of you who’ve written can attest) but I’m not ready to completely give it up - yet.

What I’d like to do is keep this as an ongoing TR for the rest of 2023. It will be highlights and moments, with live posting as the goal. My story coming alive, so to speak.

First up is spring break with my favorite girl.

Followed closely by a getaway with my favorite guy.

There will be Magician meets. New experiences. And (as always) the unexpected.

I hope you’ll join the fun!

Hadn’t eaten since breakfast.

Made an ADR and told them Shirley was coming.

The restaurant was very accommodating.

Service was fantastic. As was the food.

One complaint? A lot more dark meat turkey than white meat. Apparently the “turkey shortage” from over a year ago continues. At least that is what the staff has been told.

Call me skeptical.

The server was more than happy to bring us more white meat.

Believe it or not, there is Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake under the mound of ice cream!

And it was delicious.
I feel like I need a drooling emoji in the reaction bar. YUM!!! I'm really looking to our LTT ADR!

So I've been on a 3-week adventure to my hometown outside Seattle and then a fantastic Alaskan cruise so I am just now catching up on your adventures.

First: happy, happy, happy 40th!! That's wonderful and amazing and congratulations! :inlove: :inlove: :geek: :geek: I agree, the extra celebrating on anniversaries is special and the memories help remind you why you love them/choose them when you are just trying to survive the days (and may or may not disagree on kitchen remodeling ahem)

You look FABULOUS in the pictures from your humble beginnings and you both still look absolutely fantastic now! :geek::geek:

A Disney day is always better with a little @riverside in it!
YES!! You are so lucky your trips overlapped!
Joey insisted on taking a group selfie.
J is lookin' good and his selfie game is on point!
We received anniversary pixie dust with our room view.
Whoo hoo!
When I mentioned to a CM that we would miss dessert service (8-10 pm) due to extra hours, he snuck away to the kitchen and made us each a box of that night’s offerings.
There's that incredible Disney magic!
The lounge chef is a seafood fan and most of the nightly apps were seafood based. Woody and I do not eat seafood and therefore did not partake.
"Most" is too much. He should have like 2 seafood options and then the rest for people who don't eat seafood. I love seafood, but DH does not so I always am hoping for the best of both worlds.
Our room was on the 23rd floor. Beautiful view, but I was a bit nervous standing out on the balcony. Thankfully we could enjoy the view from inside thanks to the large windows and clear balcony railing.
Man, like you, the 23rd floor would be rough for me. I actually have terrible acrophobia and am not sure I'd be getting close to the railing on the 23rd floor. Inside the California Grill doesn't bother me, but going out on their balcony at night is a no-go. During the daylight, I'm okay, though.
During our vacation it rained A LOT.

I awoke before 6 on our first morning to a loud thunder/lightning storm. Two hours later we watched the continuing downpour while breakfasting in the lounge.
We just got back from Alaska and were told to prep for rain. Sounds like it rained more on your trip than it did in 25 days in the Pacific Northwest!
Woke the next morning to another thunderstorm. Woody had packed three pair of sneakers and all of them had been soaked through. He put on the driest pair and we made rope drop, under an ominous sky behind the castle.
Ohhh man, that happened to me one year at WDW. It was a really rough trip. DH now sprays our shoes so they are "waterproof" but I'd still wear Keens on a day like this.
Sautéed small potatoes are a lazy side. What happened to the risotto CG was famous for? Or grilled asparagus?
YES! Couldn't agree more! Bring back the risotto!!
Tonight I was obligated to order dessert. I picked the chocolate torte. Woody chose the peanut butter torte. I had one bite of mine (it was much too rich and needed something? to cut the sweetness) and offered Woody the rest. He loves peanut butter and chocolate together, so he combined a few bites of my dessert with a few bites of his. There was still a lot left over.
Chocolate + peanut butter === magnificent WDW desserts #nowayjose!
Beaches and Cream (B served us, @Loco_driver),
You got B!! Soooo lucky!! Little extra WDW magic there!
15 is definitely a milestone! Any anniversary year ending in 0 or 5 is worth extra celebrating. It’s the perfect opportunity for reminiscing and remembering why you chose to marry your spouse. Life is busy and it’s easy to forget the wonderful things about each other when you are just trying to survive the days!
AMEN to this!! It was just our 7th anniversary (been together almost 11 years) but we splurged anyway with Alaska!

We had to get back on the interstate on fumes. It was a very stressful 25 miles to the next town!

Another memory made that one day we’ll laugh about. Maybe.
This happened to my family once. We were leaving Phoenix for Palm Springs in the car and on the way out of town, talking to some relatives, so the parents weren't watching the gas milage. Since it was all desert, I remember them being really nervous and they got to a rest stop and we had to wait at least a couple hours for Triple A to come and give us some gas to get to the next stop.
Sunday, con’t
Delay #1 - Wreck which caused a boat to fall off its trailer.

Delay #2 - Semi trailer broken down in center lane of the interstate. Had to wait as it was removed.

Delay #3 - Full stop for ten minutes. Have no idea why!

Delay #4 - Usual logjam on I-75 before FL turnpike.

And it’s raining. But we see the magical sign!
HOW??!! How did you have 4 delays in one trip???!! But...you MADE IT!!!:geek::geek:😍😍
Seriously, from this angle FoP looks like Bart Simpson. (His head anyway, on a horses body or something.)
@Darstarr 100% agree. I didn't realize you could see that from AKL! Makes sense, though. I've just never had a room that looked that way.
Before anyone asks, she’s reading Big Summer
Thank you. You knew I was gonna ask. I liked Big Summer a lot. The best part about summer for teachers is all our extra reading time!!

Sounds like you’ve had a fantastic summer so far!

Thank you for the anniversary congrats and sweet compliments.

And B served us again tonight.
