The Spirited Sixth Sense ...

What has surprised me is that I know pixie dusters who will go on for days about how much more "magical" Disney is than Universal. And I have been hearing complaints about long lines from them! These people don't complain about Disney. They gladly hand over their money for anything the Mouse tells them to without question. And yet, more than one of these people have reported back to me that Disney has "ruined FP". I have had a few Disney superfans tell me that if Disney doesn't fix these lines, they will stop going.

Will they really? Probably not. But I figure the problem must be pretty bad to get the apologists talking about a Disney revolt.

The 'Dusters may yet revolt if the parks stop being fun because of waits...

Back on topic, slightly, what are the Daily News qualifications for being a "Walt Disney World expert"? Do you need a degree from Rosen or something? Major in Pixie Dust Studies?

Also, just what the hell is an "ever-changing animal." Generally the metaphor is that spots/stripes on beasties can't be changed--can someone name an animal that is literally "ever-changing"?

I think if you are willing to talk to them on record, you qualify as an expert.

No, it won't. Not saying it isn't good, but....seriously...
It'll make just a fraction of Avatar's box office. Won't be in the top 5 for the year.
It won't even be in the top 20. Most analysts are saying it will only reach 50 mill domestically

Lego movie will dominate it for sure! It'll make some money, but won't be huge. While I didn't really like the Lego movie to much, it had its moments, but as an adult I found it boring, my kids loved it though!

And no, not everything is Awesome! (That song alone will drive any adult insane!)

I've known about the Paris hotel cuts for a while. Any idea why they are waiting a full 9 months to enact when the resort is bleeding cash?

Yes: DLP's brochures in combination with European law.

The reason must be the fact that the DLP summer brochure for 2014 still advertises character greetings at the hotels as one of the perks of their resorts. The summer brochure usually is for April to October, the winter brochure then November to March. Considering that most of the hotel rooms at DLP are being sold as part of packages (including at least theme park tickets, but possibly also transportation and food) those fall under the European Package Travel Directive. This brought pretty strict rules about what happens if the vacation you book does not have all the elements that are advertised. The directive requires all countries to set up easy ways to make small claims by travellers for short-comings in their vacation. Also consumer protection agencies are usually very active in this field, so it could end up in a lot of bad PR for DLP, as having no characters at all despite them being advertised could be considered a failure to deliver the promised vacation.

If it's confirmed finally I guess so.

I'm still wrapping my head around the possibility of some kind of Beatles Pepperland. I had thought that all the good IP was taken. But it never dawned on me to look to music. Something dealing with the Fab 4 could be epic. Yellow Submarine seems like a natural fit. Especially considering how all the existing attractions are water-related.

Any chance we can talk about the Toon Lagoon replacement? I'd say that's a pretty big deal.
So they're proceeding forward with something? Because I was expecting them to hold off and see how the CG Popeye and Mr Peabody (since that might lead to further Jay Ward stuff from Dreamworks) movies do.
