So, hey, ABC Family is running Potter and the Chamber of Secrets yet again right now.
Yup, watching it right now. I really have to start reading the books again. Much better than the movies (especially number 6, that movie was terrible compared to the book).

Frozen on Once is just dumb and so forced. I love the show but wish they didn't shoehorn frozen in as the main storyline. I don't mind that the characters are on the show, but it doesn't need to be front and center.

I actually am in the middle of watching the series premiere of Flash and I like what I see so far.

Glad you finally went to Trader Joes! We love shopping there! If you are ever going to go back I would suggest the frozen Mac n cheese or the mint "Oreo" ice cream cookies!!! To die for! Te French onion soup is really good too!

The other areas are clearly Jurassic Park and Far Far Away. It also looks like they're getting a River Adventure clone. Shame, a new park gave them a great chance to finally do the Jeep ride.

While it definitely looks like a "best of" version of IOA/USO, I'll say I'm a little dissapointed with how cookie cutter Universal is between all their parks.

Maybe just because WDW hasn't been building much this decade... But Disney has surprisingly shied away from clones amongst their parks recently, at least in terms of E tickets.

Hopefully the Chinese properties set it apart and provide a more compelling reason to visit. Singapore seems to be for the moment the most unique... And it's really not that unique...

Exactly. Imo, if you've been to Universal Orlando there's really nothing amazing and more to see by going to the other parks with the exception of the Studio Tour in Hollywood. Also Jaws and BTTF in Japan if you're feeling nostalgic. Disney does a better job of giving you big reasons to want to go to the other resorts (going to see Cars Land in February!!!!! :D).

Spirited Tuesday Musings:

I did two firsts today. I visited my first Aldi anywhere and my first Trader Joe's in FL. ... yes, I did buy numerous and even more bottles of $2.99 wine. The merlot I am drinking now is actually not half bad (not very good either but ..

The shiraz and chardonnay are pretty good, too. Did you get any cookie butter? There are all kinds of fun things to try there...the Tarte d'Alsace flatbread/pizza, the coconut bonbons...basically, any of the chocolate products. The frozen foods aren't bad, either -- a package of four frozen turkey burgers runs $2.99. The prices at Trader Joe's are actually quite good. A lot better than Whole Foods, which is priced like a Disney theme park.

TJ hasn't replaced Publix for me, but I find myself going there every couple of weeks to pick up some things.

Two interesting (to me, anyway) reads. One that has a lot to do with Disney, one nothing at all.

This is from a blog on Deb Wills' site and I just thought it was interesting because this was the WDW experience I lived and grew up with. I dare anyone to say it wasn't classier than today's Walmarted version of whoring Disney's BRANDS for the masses:

And this is only for those who enjoy flying coast to coast up in the front of the aircraft:

The train will be clearly visible in the park though according to the art. It will look really weird for guests to see a train going at a snails pace between two areas right next to each other.
Unless there will be hidden areas and the train itself churns like a coiled snake inside a building to make the thing last longer.

Hey Spirit, what do you see coming down the road for the Anaheim resort? (No, Taylor Swift is not hot...)

Lots of entertainment for the 60th anniversary. New parades, new pyro, new WoC, new stage show etc.

Something in Hollywoodland at DCA in the near term and, quite likely, a Marvel presence as Micechat has reported.

Toontown going bye-bye for Star Wars further out.

Yes, and remember how you could actually buy said collectibles at the Disney Store? :(

I remember that well. My AmEx card used to get quite a workout ... but TDS, like much of Disney, was aiming higher in those days and looking to create a retail experience that didn't exist elsewhere.

Today, Disney Stores are about getting you to buy your princess costumes, Cars diecast and Star Wars iPhone covers there instead of the Walmart or Toys R Us. They aren't looking to be special ... In 1987, Disney Stores were a Blue Ocean product.

Sounds all solid to me. This "something" in Hollywood land is not just Frozen, right?

I'm still waiting for HKDL's big news. :D

Was hoping it would come out around now with the new financial year (about a year since they announced Iron Man).

Yes... I'm not so suitably nudging for info while we have your attention...

Isn't Timur Galen working for Goldman-Sachs, or am I thinking of someone else?

You win!!!

Speaking of winners, Timur definitely was one. He actually stood me up on a one-on-one tour of DCA preopening that was set up by some exec in Anaheim ... oh yeah, George Kalogridis was his name. So busy, so arrogant, so lacking in talent. I am surprised he isn't still at Disney ... mildly, because we know he's making multiples of what The Mouse would pay.

A few months ago, I found an old Disney Store Christmas catalog from the early 90s. It was full of high quality, reasonably priced collectibles that they haven't produced in at least 20 years.

A Nordstroms quality product if you will.

Frozen is forced because it was forced. But I can't blame the showrunners as Once was becoming a show on the edge (of ending soon) and everyone knew that Frozen would pump it back up.

Enjoyed Flash a lot again tonight. It really is just what an enjoyable comic show should be. Unlike that Shield crap that Marvel fanbois try and force themselves to like.

I went to Trader Joe's quite frequently when I had a place in LA. They have slowly been expanding into Florida over the last two years or so and we just got our first local one (I don't love them enough to drive an hour or 90 minutes to get to one ... they ain't that special!). But got lots of good stuff (nothing frozen because I wasn't going straight home and it was 90 degrees here again today!).
