I only contribute on here when I've got a trip planned and now that I have I can say that In 'n' Out Burger has just recently opened a restaurant (I do hate the term restaurant for a fast food place) in North West England where they are passing it off as cuisine that you'd happily pay the equivalent of $14 for a burger for.

Taylor Swift, got to say I'd never heard of her until a couple of weeks back when she put the highly irritating "Shake It Off" ear worm in my head, having said that though I saw the accompanying video and I must say she floats my boat. No doubt she'll be pleased about that news, I should imagine.

A quick question, Disney Cruise Lines, which is the best ship going out of Port Canaveral? I've got my three year old coming and a trip to WDW as part of a winter holiday is not looking like the place I want to visit anymore, which is sad.
Check the ratting online... I honestly read everywhere how the fantasy is better than all the other ships.

Are you sure it's this In-N-Out Burger? I couldn't find anything online about any locations in the UK except for a one time pop up in 2012. Not to mention one of their hallmarks is very low prices - here in LA burgers range from $2.05 - $3.40.

As for DCL, I'd think the Dream or Fantasy would be preferable, as they're practically brand new.

pretty sure the Magic would be the one feeling "newer", since its recent refurb.

All that said, man do I miss Publix. Been over 5 years since I left Florida for DC and I still can't get over how lousy DC's supermarkets are. Safeway, Giant, Harris Teeter...none of them even comes remotely close to Publix.

It's been many years since I've been in a Publix, but here in the Tri-State area Wegman's is far and away the best supermarket. If a grocery/supermarket can be a "destination", then they are it. IMHO

So CMs will SOON, whatever the heck that means, receive a Magic Band and be able to book FP+ ressies 7 days in advance. About time. Can't imagine why this took so long. Now does anyone know how this will work with FP+ ressies for guests of CMs?

Tangent.... I need @ParentsOf4 's thoughts here.....

Does this Ebola scare (which is silly, we all agree on that) risk a significant impact on the tourism market?

Meaning, if we get a few Ebola patients showing up on airplanes, could this risk a post-9/11 slowdown for Orlando tourism? Or is that reaching too much?

I'm not @ParentsOf4, but...

I remember when SARS ruined Toronto tourism back in 2003/2004. Real or perceived, the threat of disease can very much cause people to cancel or delay trips and I could see this affecting Orlando in a negative way. To the extent 9/11 did back in 2002? I don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least some concern shown by travellers.

As soon as I saw a video was out, I got on the phone to find out if my CM person watched.

CM's will manage the guest passes, and have to set up all Guest pass FP+, they can't be assigned to another MDE profile even if they are already on your "Friends & Family" list. Normal procedure is you can have 4 days, up to 7 days in advance (like AP's have 7 days, at 30 days). If your visiting party will include someone with paid admission (like a local with an AP or a day ticket) everyone can make them 30 days, if your party will include someone staying on-site, everyone gets to make them at 60 days. CM and Spouse can use Magic Bands, guest pass users can not.

And everything starts on Oct 20.

IMO, it depends where it hits. Let's say Ebola moves from Africa, to areas in South America where health care services are limited, and starts spreading there, it could affect the ability of any South American to travel to the US. So since WDW is becoming more dependant on travelers from South America, there would be a pinch.

Americans stopping travelling, I think is less likely. But never underestimate some American's ability to panic.

Big update about the future of DLP on Disney and More. Big plans for WDS that could include Avatar Land depending on how it does in AK. http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2014/10/all-about-disneyland-paris-future.html?m=1

Initially I read that WDS as DHS, thought you were saying they'd announced that despite the Pixar/Star Wars speculation the work in DHS was actually going to be a second Avatar land for WDW, presumably with a Hogwarts Express type thing connecting to the DAK one.

Depends. Contained to an air craft or sick at parks/resorts? Suddenly do CMs no longer want to be cast in custodial or housekeeping? Would guests continue to use communal baby changing stations? What would be the protocol to clean up a protein spill? What would be the protocol to track who the guest came in contact with at the parks and advise guests that came in contact with an ill guest? With such a large tourism base from so many countries where would the board of health start to quarantine tourists? Is the Board of Health agency staffed well enough to deal with the amount of tourists in the Big O should it trickle into the area?

I believe the area of tourism that I'd be more inclined to see guests avoid if the outbreak spreads is Cruise Lines.

What I'd like to hear more about is the 'cocktail' that seemed to work with 2 Ebola patients, how long will it take to manufacture and will the FDA approve it? If the 'cocktail' becomes widely available I think that would ease travelers minds in the event Ebola does spread.
