$35 is for the Mears bus to pick you up from your hotel and take you there and back. KSC admission is $50 on top of that but well worth it and includes the NASA tour, Atlantis exhibit, IMAX movies etc.

You can also get a Grey Line coach package tour that costs $99 but includes transport from the hotels, park admission, and a meet and greet with a real astronaut.
gotcha, thanks!

(These aren't my photos.)

It's also suspended in Huntsville. Pretty awesome! We were there last August, and we happened upon a program where they show you artifacts from space travel for the last few decades. I touched Neil Armstrong's glove and squee'd like a little girl. My favorite was the make-up kids for the female astronauts. Their explanation was that they wanted to keep the astronauts on a routine so they provided the make-up kits so they would have a routine similar to what they have at home. I think they just want them to look nice for the camera...lol!
I just visited Huntsville at the end of July and was given this tour. It was fascinating!

I get WHY they're investing in Shanghai. Lots of people. Huge emerging markets there & in India.

I just feel that between Shanghai & Hong Kong, they've neglected Orlando & resulted in the mess we're in today with upcharges, etc.
One little thing you forgot to mention. When it comes to the big stuff, anything over 150-200 million, Staggs has to go to the Board of Directors to approve the expenditures. Money continues to be sent to Shanghai and Hong Kong because both resorts have clear long term goals. After MM+ and the current state of the resort, should the BoD be expected to greenlight major expenditures when there is no long term plan and management hasn't been purged? That's why we're getting Frozen in Norway, he doesn't have to answer to the BoD because that decision is still in his pay grade.

Glad you brought up my magic plus…

I had a cast member speculate to me yesterday that the price is now up to $2.8 billion.

OK, but does that particular CM have access to the financial records for said project? If so then, wow, if not then it is just one more unsubstantiated rumor.

Whether it is documented fact or unsubstantiated rumor or anything in between, the point is that if it is indeed accurate, the implications of burning so much money on a (largely) failed project is very disturbing.

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone can confirm it.

Like i said, speculated.
At what point does any additional money spent go towards "operating" the system as opposed to building it out? There are going to be additional operating and maintenance costs each year as long as the system stays in operation so will the "price tag" just keep going up forever? I'm thinking of it in terms of a ride. There's an initial build cost and then ongoing operating and maintenance including occasional major refurbs, but we don't keep adding the additional costs to the "price tag" for the ride.

Only if it is indeed fact. I don't think anyone can or, those that can, will confirm it. So there is no sense of getting all bent out of shape over something that has just as much chance of being incorrect as correct.

This is perhaps the most insidious aspect of MyMagic+, the accelerated depreciation rates of its associated technology and its inflated operating costs.

In November 2013, Disney CFO Jay Rasulo reported for the then upcoming fiscal year 2014:

"But, as you can imagine with a project like MyMagic+, which had a very heavy IT investment, which depreciates on a much more rapid basis than the normal assets we put into place in World, we did expect the cost side to bump up"

And later:

"And this year, we're looking at about a $300 million expense item, and more or less the same amount on the revenue side."

Even more money thrown at MyMagic+ in 2014. More than Universal spent to build the original Wizzarding World Of Harry Potter, hundreds of millions more that Disney is going to spend on the Maelstrom/Frozen makeover. More than enough to build a top-notch E ticket attraction, even at WDI's inflated prices.

What a waste.

Spirited New TV Season musings:

Gotham looked interesting and had a kewl vibe, yet it still is a Batman show without Batman and I have serious doubts about its longevity. It's still better than the godawful homage to the Marvel BRAND on ABC.

The Blacklist started out quite well in Season 2 ... Spader is spectacular. Sleepy Hollow not quite so much, although I did love Ichabod 's take on Founding Father Ben 'likes showing his stuff' Franklin.

Dallas ended its third season in its second incarnation with two great hours. J.R. Ewing may be dead, but Judith Light (who is as warm as anyone in the business in real life) is absolutely eating up the scenery as a female version of a larger than life Texas baddie.

@WDW1974 whats up with the rumored Tory Storyland(ala HK) going in WDS?

News is total rumor to me. I was told that it originated from Merfie's pal Tom Amity ... And, to be fair to him (not that I need to), was more of a spitball type of 'what if?'

Could I see it happening? Absolutely?

Do I think it will? No. I think something similar with a Pixar theme (Cars or Monsters would be my guess) will be part of the rebranded park.

An Olaf that costs more than the whole Norway refurd? My only guess as to why is that he's some kind of living character. No way a suit costs that much. Could it?

$500K=$500,000

Frozen attraction budget was somewhere between $70-80 million when last time I heard.

And before you think that is a great sum realize it likely includes the meet-and-greet and that the Monsters redo of Superstar Limo at DCA was around $30 million if memory serves me.
