But this guy would graciously "donate" his photos to Wikipedia for the DL articles (Cars Land and Radiator Springs racers comes to mind) and then place a very large watermark to w-h-o-r-e out his site.I know Lou used to promote on Wikipedia
That's not what he said on twitter...Joe Rohde is at Animal Kingdom enjoying Harambe Nights for anyone that is there
That's not what he said on twitter...
how the hell HP is science fiction?just saw on another DISney board, someone doesn't like Harry Potter because they don't like "science fiction"![]()
Some people clearly are so biased, they need to be politely ignored everytime they speak about quality of movies/parks.Saw on another Disney Board that Harry Potter was too dark yet they can't wait to go see Maleficent and love the Alien movies.
your quote is completely wrong. Its pointing to my comment regarding the ubisoft not wanting to make female playable characters.. I never said anything about planet of the apes!Because you, and everybody else, already know how it ends?
I just watched that POV and am so damn mad because I have been designing for months a suspended ride based on bugs life..

Are you one of those Crabtree mall walkers? When he pays anything at all.
Being old, I occasionally go to one of the local malls here in Raleigh just to keep the bones mobile. For the last two weeks when I passed by the Hallmark Store I could see a wall that had a tarp draped over it. Today, I went there and behold, there were all the Disney Christmas Ornaments (plus others) all neatly placed. One of the employees were wearing Minnie Ears, they had a table with cookies, candy, cheese puffs and lemonade out there for the customers. (complimentary). I asked the lady if they had any "Frozen" stuff there and all she could find were a couple of insulated large drinking cups. That was it. She said, that they were expecting the "Frozen" merchandise soon but she didn't sound very convincing.
I think you guys are wrong. Other than persistence, seascape, does not write anything like Peter. I'm not buying that this is who it is. By now, Peter would have confessed profusely just as soon as someone noticed it was him. He's like that, cannot keep a secret even if it's detrimental to himself. So, I think everyone, if they really care that much, should go back to the archives and see who else this might be. I doubt it's worth the effort though, it could be just somebody fairly new. That has happened you know!
If not now... when? There is never a good time to introduce a new system to a group of people that have the old one engrained in their minds and know how to "work" it. This is as good a time as any to get it in operation and give people the time to adjust to it. That's regardless of whether or not it is for future expansion or just a more connected system for use today.
Did it look futuristic?![]()
so he got into some deep crap?
I mean, some people are tossing the 94 USD tag.
Not a fan of cave exploring I suppose?
how the hell HP is science fiction?

You must have replied to me, then edited the quote by deleting some code.. thus it ended pointing at my reply instead of spirit'sThe text I quoted was from Spirit's post, but it has your name on it. Weird.
$94 refers to the price of a one day ticket to Animal Kingdom.
Which is completely wrong. Not to defend stupidity, but I think people who aren't fans of fantasy or sci-fi literature generally tend to lump them together. The genre's do have some similarities. I personally am not a fan of fantasy literature which is why I've never been keen on reading Harry Potter (and never made it through The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia either). Honestly, people who haven't read it just may not know enough about to know what type of literature it is.
Just got off my second ride on Gringotts this time in the last row of the second car (the first time I was in the front row of the first car). Makes the ride even betterThis is quite possibly my new favorite ride. Immersive doesn't even begin to cover it.
Since when is Elsa the vain cheerleader queen? She's a depressed shut-in afraid of being unable to live up to the expectations her parents or society have for her. That's a description of people on the internet right there.Or the irrational hatred fanbois (and I do mean boys, especially on Twitter) of a nerdy bespectacled wizard have for a temporary DHS event featuring a blond teenage queen who is exactly the kind of girl who never would have talked to them in high school.
Which is completely wrong.
SCIFI refers to science fiction ( Based mostly for future, science, space, aliens, tech..etc..)
Fantasy is of created lore and fantasia.
I dont see how they are dumped together.
They have very specific differences.
Spirited Saturday Afternoon Quickees:
BTW, someone said my pal @PhotoDave219 was complaining somewhere in this thread about Brian Singer chat. The guy is a scumbag whose behavior around Hollywood has been known for years. And his behavior isn't something that is the exception ... Disney legal is well aware they are one angry fanboi with a great lawyer away from having a scandal that would dwarf the Singer sordid tales.
Did y'all see how Celebration Place/Dr. Blondie/Crazy Gary/Bland Tommy and Co placed The Mongello on FOX 35 in O-Town to ***** up the Frozen Summer offerings? Did you see how he ignored a softball question about Diagon Alley? Do those folks have any shame whatsoever? Lou is a paid shill, but how do his handlers face themselves in a mirror.
A few thoughts on Gringotts, which I have not ridden yet, after a lovely lunch with someone who helped bring it to life:
It is not close to being ready to be ridden. It was forced to be rushed due to UNI/Comcast's marketing team and having a media event scheduled and The Tonight Show taping. Capacity, right now, is about half to 2/3rds (on a good day) of what it should and will be.
Despite the fact the ride will immediately be one of the best in O-Town, it isn't groundbreaking. It takes a lot of existing techs and bakes them into a perfect pie. Forbidden Journey was groundbreaking as a ride experience, though. Gringotts isn't.
And while Diagon Alley as an area may well equal or surpass the quality seen in TDS, it doesn't change the fact that the rest of UNI Studios has its good, bad and ugly and doesn't measure up to the amazing new world created.
Back to the Frozen Summer. ... Any Disney fanbois who think this is designed to take attention away from Diagon Alley are smoking some bad pixie dust. Any UNI fanbois who think this is designed to attempt to take attention away from DA are smoking worse weed. This is something Tom Staggs ordered ... and ordered at last minute due to the amazing $$$ the franchise has brought into Disney's coffers. Nothing else was at play here.
Yet another summer comes and Disney deluxe resorts struggle to fill rooms, with the Grand Flo and Poly and BW all having vast quantities of rooms out of service for rehabs or conversion to DVC units. Again, speaks fully to Disney's faulty 'the sky isn't the limit' continually rising prices. When I have stayed at Ritz Carltons for less than the prices of Disney 'moderate' resorts, something is seriously effed up in corporate thinking.
A friend sent a note today about visiting Europa Park (very high on my list of parks I want to visit) and their new Arthur hybrid rolley coaster/dark ride. Said the attraction, which was delayed like seemingly every major attraction opening this summer, was very nice, but not up to Disney standards (especially the animatronics).
It is true: UNI Creative has gone and picked up Disney's trash. The fired Jason Surrell has been hired as an entertainment/show writer for UNI.
How come I have no interest in seeing the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes film at all?
Y'all remember a few summers ago when Disney was shuttering the Studios park at 7 on Friday and Saturday nights?
Earthquakes in Oklahoma? Yeah, nothing at all to do with the energy companies and what they are doing below the surface.
Time to run ... but going to drop some serious news here shortly.
I'm not saying there aren't specific difference, but if people aren't interested, they probably don't know what they are. Plus, there can be an intermingling. Something like Star Wars has science, space and aliens while at the same time there are ghosts and "created lore" along with things like "The Force" which is more spiritual than scientific. If you look at book stores, Fantasy and Science Fiction are often lumped together.
Not saying people aren't dumb, but I can see where some people think they are the same thing.
Yeah, Sci-Fi and Fantasy are often lumped together. Certainly stuff like ComiCon and Cosplay tend to involve both genres.
I think it is silly to label HP as "sci-fi" but it's not something that surprises me much.
...
Best location to see the Frozen fireworks: the bridge near the International Gateway overlooking France at EPCOT. Seriously, check it out before the O-Town Lifestylers head there and ruin it. And someone tell @WDWFigment that it is a GREAT photo locale.
...
At least at the GF they have completely shut down the entire main building except for dining, retail and lobby as they renovate the rooms to look like hip Vegas rooms from 2009-2010. (In other words, no one is currently staying in that building at all. They have put up walls around the lobby railings so you can't see anything from the lobby.)
...
I agree with you 100%. I feel the same way about Star Wars. It's nothing but fantasy. There is no science fiction in Star Wars except for perhaps bizzarro science fiction. They use advanced technology in Star Wars like baseball bats. And that's OK for the soap opera that it is.It bothers me. Jk Rowling is not Ian banks, or Isaac Asimov, or frank Herbert, or Jules Verne or hg wells. She's more cs Lewis, Kelly Armstrong, or terry pratchet. It's fantasy. That's not science fiction.
A nerves been hit, I apologize. But there's a vast difference between the two. And Harry potter is not science fiction.
