The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

I'm not sure that anyone who posts regularly on a WDW fansite (myself included) is in a position to critique another person's obsession. :D
Seems like it's a daily occurrence here. I think there are healthy and unhealthy levels of obsession...this one just kinda feels unhealthy to me but I guess we all have our own measures.

So three weeks standing in 90 degree heat next to a metal barricade then revelling in it in the local newspaper would be healthy right? Asking for a friend

I also notice TouringPlans has been at Uni just about every day this week and plans on going back tomorrow. LOL. Really?

I can't imagine just hanging out for weeks on end waiting for that to open, as impressive as it is. And the pictures of the tons of people just waiting ... I can't.

Obsession is relative. Generally, it’s considered unhealthy when it negatively impacts work or family.

Some of my associates’ lives revolve around golf. They leave work early, rearrange business trips, spend many thousands on club memberships, green fees, and the latest equipment, all to devote hundreds of hours each year away from their spouses and children.

Yet they cannot understand my obsession with WDW, which I share with my DW and four children.

Go figure.

Not that it makes it much better but at least they're monetizing it.
Yep, I guess there is a difference there if you are getting paid or making money off it. Even then, I personally would go insane spending 3 weeks waiting for this thing to open. I'm not sure how some of the touring plans folks are able to visit the Disney Parks pretty much every day and still enjoy them. There is one person that is in Disneyland constantly...I'd be in a straightjacket at that point.

So. Anyone else think Disney will do nothing in response to HP 2.0?

If they DO do anything it will not be in direct response to HP2.0. What I mean is that they will...may...announce projects that have been in development that were supposed to be announced a while back. Nothing new to combat HP. Of course people will use the term Potter Swatter blah blah blah...

In my opinion there is nothing Disney can announce short of multiple major developments (multiple attractions/shows) for each park that is not a day late and a dollar short.

The term "Potter Swatter" should be retired. It is no longer just about Potter. It is about the entire resort. The "Potter Swatter" window is just about closed.
