ETA: since we're assigning blame, does that mean we at least found common ground in agreeing Gen Y males seem to go out of their way to avoid conflict? Because that was my larger point.

Don't at all want to have the other part of the discussion here ... but I'd agree with the above and say women are just as bad. It's a generational thing (BTW, is Gen Y the same as the so-called Millenials?) ... and that is why they love tech like FB and Twitter. It can keep so much conflict away. You don't want anyone to push you on your world (or World) view? Simply cocoon yourself in a clique where everyone knows your name and will egg you on.

Personally, I think conflict is quite healthy. Yelling, arguing, cursing people out, making them cry (occasionally!) isn't necessarily a bad thing. Passive aggressive BS is much less healthy and it doesn't allow one to mature normally in society.

Yes. Gen Y are the Millenials.

I can appreciate the enthusiasm for HP 2.0 and wanting to see the new attractions as soon as they soft open.

But hanging out in front of Kings Cross inside the park for 15+ straight days when it's been clear that no softs are going to happen? Seems a bit much for anyone old enough to drive themselves to the park.

If you have time to do this 15 straight days, then I might suggest that you don't have a life and don't have your priorities straight even if you can support yourself in such a Lifestyle.

I really want to see DA and ride Gringotts and the HE, but if I do it on July 3rd or July 8th or Aug. 1st or Aug.23rd or September 30th or ... isn't going to affect my life. It just isn't that big a deal and I am VERY excited to see what has been created.

hey, @WDW1974. did you see the Court's ruling on cell phones today re: police not being able to search arrestees' cell phones without a warrant? and if so, think it could open the door to the way the law treats data collected via cell phones? obviously, if so, that would be a blow to MM+, even though i assume they could still cover themselves with the sparsely-read terms of service even if the law eventually evolved. just a thought.

Yep, saw it. Didn't pay a huge amount of attention. Police still largely do what they want in the USA (call it the 9/11 anything goes effect). Don't think this has anything to do with MM+ at all.

Figment comic's second issue has already sold out at the distributor level a week before it even releases and is going into a second printing. First one was similarly successful.

If this is a continued trend, I really hope Disney's paying attention.

I can't support a comic book based on characters that Disney has removed/reduced from the park they were created for.

To me, this is the same smarmy crap as Horizons tees and Mr. Toad vinyls. Just no interest whatsoever in rewarding a company for bad behavior.

I actually am a lawyer, and sort of an expert on constitutional criminal law. This case was very limited in scope, to physical, "real world" inspection of a suspect's cell phone following arrest. The police can still access the information on your phone if they have a a warrant, which won't be that hard to get if you've already been arrested. What the Court basically said is reading through your call list is different than emptying your pocket (for a couple different reasons none of which I feel like rehashing). It's a major case for police, but sadly I don't think it demonstrates a new-found respect for privacy of information.
So what's your take on the EU' s "Right to be Forgotten"?

Speaking as a criminal trial attorney, this ruling is going to have a lot of immediate repercussions, especially for young people.
I personally have at least two cases that I expect to have dismissed on the back of Riley.

I didn't realize we had that many lawyers in our midst. Need to not let my feelings of the profession enter into a discussion! :)

I have a simple question about the television side of Disney. I have noticed over the past 18 months that the original movies have been much less in programing. HSM was huge but even before they were turning a movie every month now much less original programing. Some were good, most were corny, and some just awful but at least they were original and used as a secondary vehicle for the tv actors to be showcased. I am just not seeing much creativity on TV side and with four kids I have seen a lot of Disney Channel over the past decade. Hard to believe that they lost money and when they hit, they could be huge Tween generators for money.

That's a good question. I'm not really sure why Disney has cut back on original programming, if in fact they have. They aren't exactly costly. And once in a while, like with High School Musical, you hit the lottery.

The high school Musical popularity was insane and I cannot believe they didn't use that a s a springboard for re launching the mickey mouse club.. I am not a fan for song and dance shows but that was a no brainer.

Evidently it was a brainer because they have brains.

I'll tell you when I visit Africa. One of the places I haven't made it to yet. Probably too much time in theme parks!

I haven't been to other Disney parks in the world, but I did spend two weeks in Uganda working with orphans. It was an absolutely life changing experience and the people I met were both kind and gracious. It's one of the reasons I love AKL and AK - the atmosphere they captured is spot-on down to the termite mounds (I couldn't bring myself to snack on the fried termites at the time, but I now I wish I had).

Wooooo! I'm normal!

Someone tell human resources that....
