The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

On a funny note, I drove my husband's car a few months ago, and on the passenger seat was a talking baby Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony. I called him to ask if he had become a brony and then told him I may need to divorce him. He ask what a brony was and was pretty sure I had gone nuts.

(His workplace publishes product reviews so it's not unusual for him to come home with random toys for the kids - I was just messing with him).

We don't. God help you if you actually go out for a night or away for a weekend, it takes hours to get caught up, if you are that dedicated! (I am not)

I'm not either and it is my thread! :)

I spent a lot of time earlier, but was working on something online so I could sorta do two things at once (I shudder to think of the typos!) ... But now that I am winding down from the day, not sure how much I want to devote ... although it is better than reading Disney/UNI Twits, I suppose.

And do I care about the World Cup? Nope. But I did enjoy being at my local watering hole today where it was playing on every TV and everyone was going nuts about Colombia (hey, this is SoFla!) and then it went deadly silent when Japan scored just before the half.

Hey that was my bit!

That was mine going back years. It used to be a running gag that I was going to write a book on Mental Health and the Disney Fan Community: How Pixie Dust Destroys the Mind ... It would be an amazing and fascinating read, but no way Disney would ever let it get published. I know there are crazy fans out there of any/every thing from sports teams to painters to bird watchers ... but it just seems that Disney fans are the flat out most clinically insane of the bunch.

yep walmart put it on sale and it went to number one quite an achievement for a 5 year film don't you think

Maybe ... sorta ... not quite. ... I think Walmart's sale was the reason. I don't think there was this huge pentup demand. The people who wanted it had long ago bought it, one would reasonably assume. This was impulse based on price all the way.

Yup - but I don't think optimization is bad (like some here). I think some like to think the company can only do one thing at a time or something... Or there can only be one justification for something.

I really am just about spent after wasting so much time explaining the basics. It really is not enjoyable to slog through all the pooh

Tell me about it, after Faux Top One Percent Spirited Winter and Spring holidays, I don't have anything on the horizon and the current 'feels like' temp is 91 degrees at 11:30 p.m. and I am tired of arguing basic points. But if you don't, then people misrepresent what you say and ... yeah ... I'd rather be in Vegas ... at least it's a dry heat!

@WDW1974 Is Disney's "green" initiative still in effect in relation to the air condition.

I haven't heard that it isn't.

I will say it was VERY annoying last year when 'Angie' and I stayed at the DAK Lodge Villas that the AC would shut off if you didn't move around (think about that during the night when you are asleep). It was either too hot or too cold. It's insane that you can't set a thermostat down to say 72 degrees (like I would at home) and know that it will be 72.

Of course, most fans/guests won't when they are riding PoC or SSE and they know that the temp isn't as cold as it is in say ... the Emporium because Disney just shuts the system off at night to be ... I mean to save the green $$$!!!

This may be helpful--it's on Netflix and probably Youtube. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2446192/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4. Of course, you can never unsee it, so watch at your own risk.

I watched it. Not sure what was disturbing about it . . . Other than the reaction from people around them who prejudged (especially the teen boy who got assaulted because he had a pony sticker on the back of his car).

Seriously, there are plenty of grown men on these boards who critique the Little Mermaid ride without a hint of irony. . . And about .1% of those men may have an unhealthy psychology about it.

Me and my daughter like the show. I'm not going to worry about the .1% who take it to the dark side.

Soarin 2.0 excites you? A boat ride which has been done 1000 times already excites you? Avatar, the IP, excites you?

Hey, I defended the project. I called the haters out several times saying they will all be there when Avatar opens despite their claims to the contrary. I've even tried to point out there yes, in fact, there are some fans out there. Yes, I'd visit the area when it opens. But, truth be told, Avatar isn't a gripping IP, unlike Potter or Star Wars. Yes, Avatar did very well for itself in theaters. But, do people care about it as much as they do Potter? Star Wars? Star Trek?

And please, point out what I said that was inaccurate.
I think there is only a few thing that really excites me of the project of Avatar.

a) the floating rockwork.
b) the supposed super detailed NAVI animatronics tested by Cameroon (with 8 motion axis instead of the average 2 motion axis)

I'm pretty hyped for Avatar. If Disney does a great job recreating Pandora and the two rides are truly quality it would be a home run in my book. No one would care if it's based on an IP not as well known as Star Wars. If it's done right it will be spectacular IMO.

Hopefully Cameron will be breathing on rasulo's neck like a hawk, to prevent the B$%$#@rd from cutting the budget and delivering shoddy product.
Cameron is definitively a perfectionist of the level of MJ.

They're pathetic little children. They were all probably outcasts in school and now they all build each other up by pretending they're important or what they say matters.

Been holding back, because I have friends in the various cliques, but I'll say it. Twitter is mostly made up of Gen Y--the first generation primarily raised by women. You can't be shocked they grew up into 20-something pussies who eschew confrontation.

At least once I week I find myself saying, "this would make a great chapter in the Spirit's book." Sincerely hope it is published in some form one day.

A 4Chan joke that got wildly out of hand, to the point where a few proponents actually think it was serious (and everyone on the interwebs is up in arms about it). Cf. "bikini bridge."

But really, and I mean this sincerely, if you aren't hip enough to current pop culture that you have to ask, you don't want to know. It will just rustle your jimmies.
If being hip means I know and accept the existence of grown men fondling over a childrens show about friendship and ponies I think I would rather not be. Also I get the jimmies reference.

Off topic, Is the store "Journeys" owned by Disney or any affiliation? They had Storm Troopers doing a M&G for pictures at our local mall this weekend.
