The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

There are also some suspicions about that incident that led to much of the anger. That and a grown male (admittedly one that covers theme parks) taking to Twitter about missing out on a Princess meet and greet rubs some people the wrong way.
Who wouldn't vent about losing a FastPass+ selected weeks before and being told "Oh well, sucks to be you," by Guest Relations?

I agree it is a cash grab, and I am going to hold strong and not get a parkhopper type pass!;)

But I forget who said it that the tiers is an even bigger cash grab, thats not true. Those are there because of the lack of e-tickets at EC and DHS, but thats a whole 'nother problem

EDIT: yah I looked back and that last person was you.:)
Hogwarts Express is a first-of-its-kind attraction... you're missing out... especially when you consider how cheap a parkhopper at Universal is.

You're right, nobody in Hollywood has anything negative to say about Chevy Chase and Bruce Willis... horrible examples.

Anyone that hasn't seen, "An Evening with Kevin Smith" should immediately move it to the top of your Netflix list.

I think you may have missed my point on the Chevy Chase and Bruce Willis thing. They are not well-liked. That's why I said I was all for people trash talking them. Anyway, I made at least a half-dozen posts elaborating on the topic this morning. I don't see any point in going over that all over again.

I think I've seen An Evening with Kevin Smith. I watched a couple of his videos. They are actually what drove my distaste for him. I avoid Kevin Smith lectures on Netflix like the plague and marvel that so many people are so enthralled by his self-congratulatory ramblings. But hey, different strokes.

Everyone is entitled to do that. But regardless of what you're entitled to do, you are bound to face criticism when you have 36K twitter followers and you're complaining to them about not getting to meet Princesses.

Please. They aren't making anyone do anything. If people want to experience both parts of Potter, then they buy two-park tickets. If they don't, they don't have to.

Your analogy is off because Hogwart's Express is going to be maintained unlike the monorail ... oh, and it is an attraction, not simply transportation. In other words, your point is weak and not valid.
UNI is absolutely a better value when it comes to what they are offering for the price of admission (whether the ticket is one day one park, multi-day, or AP) than Disney.

Universal is not a better value for families. Particularly ones with young kids, or adults who don't want to be spun around or doused with water on ever ride. Or for people who don't like all their amusement park rides to be screened based.

I think your next thread should be called a Spirited Axe to Grind.

I'm wondering if the nicpicks are coming up tho. Visually and set wise the place seems amazing. But there are things that seem to jump out as obvious details you are kind of shocked they let through.. considering the detail level of everything else. Things like the awful Herminie voice in HE... the sloppy grouting/install detail of the wand medallions in places.. Its weird to have such over the top kind of things, yet lack some others.

Kings Cross looks amazing, but like the staircase in Hogwarts fails in the scale category. I'm not sure about enclosing the station at Hogsmeade.. but there are obvious reasons behind why.
There's quite a bit to be adjusted still. That's why it's not opening until July, and there's stuff to be fixed after the summer, as well. There was a rush to get some things finished, as usual. The scale is a choice that had to be made, so they made some compromises. And yup, regarding the station.

I agree with u. As cool as Uni Orlando is, too many of their attractions r height based. I went to IOA for the first time a few years ago when my first born was about a 1 1/2 old. Basically the only thing he could do was Dr Suess Land. After that trip, I vowed not to go back until he was tall enough to go on the most of everything. I think next year will be the year that both my boys will be big enough for the majority of the attractions an I can't wait to experience Potter.

Sorry. The issue isn't Disney doing this or you reporting it. ... The issue is when fans inevitably start making a big deal about it. A parking lot is just a parking lot. And I don't find them MAGICal at any theme park I have ever visited (no, they aren't special at TDR either!)
I think there is a substantial thread on OU about a certain Uni cast parking structure...

The more you talk the harder it is to believe you've ever stepped foot there.

that's what I was kind of getting at when I asked my question to @articos what others in the industry think about DA
gotta be a little frustrating
Yes and no. We (generalized "we", to WDI staff, as well as Universal Creative and independents) are always frustrated because our projects are constantly being value engineered no matter where. If we could build what we envision, you'd never leave. (Neither would we.) We're used to having to deal with disappointment, as it's part of the job. And we're realists when it comes to the corporate overlords. We know what we're getting into when working on a project with Disney, vs. a project for Universal or a project in Dubailand or Six Flags...and we generally know based on the "status" of the project or the budget. So, we're rooting for Diagon and Universal no matter where we're working, also to support our friends and colleagues, and because we know if it does well, which it will, it will spur more work for us at the top of the spectrum of quality.
